It's all about how you present yourself and your capacity for creative clothing solutions (since wearing long-sleeve, long-pants combos gets boring quickly). I think the "tramp stamp" remark is cruel, and as others said, frighteningly judgmental. I wonder how many excellent job candidates have been tossed out of the window unfairly because of their surface appearance. My firm has 150 lawyers and I hire them. I never hire anyone with visible tattoos and out manual prohibits visible ink or other fashion distractions. Our profession is conservative by nature and we cannot risk an adverse result for a client because someone found a lawyer’s personal style to be objectionable.
