Sale Alert – Saks

Saks Fifth Avenue

Saks has a 75% off sale going on, online, now — the sale prices won’t hit the store until the 26th. We recommend sorting by price and heading to the $80ish price range — TONS of $350-$500 dresses marked to $80ish. Everything is what we call “lucky sizes” — in other words, not everything is available in all sizes. If you’re wearing maternity clothes (or will be soon), tons of great stuff on sale; also tons of great Nanette Lepore (for some reason).

Happy Holidays!

Hello all — just wanted to give everyone a head’s up that for the next two weeks or so we’ll be on a much more abbreviated posting schedule — we’ll still Tweet about sales and try to do a round-up post of the sure-to-be bananas (B-A-N-A-N-A-S!) December 26 and January 1 sales, but otherwise… well, everyone enjoy the holidays, and if you’re still in the office, enjoy the long lunches and empty halls.

Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Contrast Heel Trouser Socks

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.

If you’re like us, right now you’re not doing TOO much buying for yourselves (come on, who can resist some of these sales, though?)  You’re buying for your loved ones, family and friends.  Still, every so often you need to add a little something to your “shopping  cart” in order to get free shipping or a certain percentage off.  If that’s the case, and you’re shopping Banana Republic, we highly recommend these contrast-heel socks.  They’re the perfect weight to wear beneath high-heeled boots, and the splash of color is fresh and happy without being childlike.  (Note that Old Navy has very similar socks at a lower price point).  These are $7.50 each at Banana Republic — buy 2 and they’re $6 each.  Women: Contrast heel trouser sock – BlackWomen: Contrast heel trouser sock – Dark gray heather

Thursday’s TPS Report: Qi Short Sleeve Sweater with Chiffon Tank

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.

Qi Short Sleeve Sweater with Chiffon Tank
Couture Candy is having a one-day sale, so we thought we’d check it out — it is currently 30% off all orders (with a few exceptions). We lurve this short sleeve chiffon sweater from Qi — the bloused look of the sheer silk strikes us as a perfect compliment to a serious navy or brown suit. We’d wear it with a long, opera-length necklace — perhaps a pendant. Currently $79; today that comes to $55 or so. The free 2-day shipping doesn’t hurt, either.
