5'10 here too... I love my flats but I also wear heels from kittens up to 4" to work too. Yes it makes me very tall but I've yet to run across a colleague that is uncomfortable with it. An adversary? Yes, but that's a good thing! ;) I'd be upset if a shorter male co-worker told me I was too tall because I've embraced my height all my life. Good heavens do you think he would say the same thing to a taller man? Don't think so. That man has more issues than just his height. Bring on the choos!!

Oooh, I just checked and they have these shoes at $39.99 now. The downside is that they only have a few sizes left.

I'm another tall girl. I feel unfeminine in flats, but I'm too tall for really high heels (unless I'm trying to look intimidating). I really have to search to find shoes that are stylish, not too high, and also work appropriate.

Tall girl here. I often wear heels, and many days I wear flats or kitten heels too. I like to wear heels to weed out short men (socially), but at work, I concur with the poster who mentioned that tall women make some short men insecure. It is what it is--if I know a guy is sensitive about his height, or me, in 3 inch heels means that I am an Amazonian six or so inches taller, then I choose flats.

I also think these heels look cheap. AND ENOUGH WITH THE PURPLE SHOE OBSESSION ALREADY. ENOUGH!

Haven't tried these on, but in my experience, Bandolinos seem to be among the most comfortable mid-price heels. The construction and placement of the heel seems very well done in most of the styles.

a great looking pair of flats or low heels makes me feel just as confident as a 3 inch pair of heels. actually, i only own one pair of 3 inch heels and that's as high as i'll go. i like to be able to move quickly and comfortably and it's just not worth the back problems and sore feet.

PS: I'm not sure how heels are measured but when I gave my dimensions I was talking about the actual spike, not floor to top of shoe.

I am tall and wear heels but usually never more than 2 inches. At my old job I was taller than one of the male partners I worked with frequently (at least in my heels I was) and he mentioned once that he didn't like it. He was always self-conscious about being a "short guy" and when I was in heels he felt even shorter. We were also friends (I grew up w/ his son) so he good be honest with me. I keep that in mind now at my future jobs and will wear heels around the tall guys but if I know I'm working w/ a shorty I stick w/ flats or low heels. I also worked on a street that had the old-fashioned cobblestone. On the way to court one day my heel got stuck in the crack and everyone had to stop while I dislodged myself. Not sexy.

I agree with V. Life is too short to walk around uncomfortably. Also, I'm much taller than the other females I work with. For me to wear high heels on top of being taller than everyone else makes me feel like I want to attract attention to myself, which is totally out of character for me. I'd rather wear flats and play it low-key. Anyone else with tall issues?

To the extent that high heels prevent me from keeping up with the boys when I walk down the street, into court, etc. (and they sometimes do) I don't like them! And they make my feet hurt.
