I agree with strapless. BUT, I hate strapless. You may be able to get away with a full coverage regular bar, secure it tightly in the back, and then safetly pin the straps to the edges of the neckline. Not sure if it will work!! But, it is worth giving it a shot if you hate strapless.

I ADORE JCPenney. The JCP one might have more of that cheap ribbed feel, but even that I’ve seen more at Macy’s and Dillard’s for twice the price. Great find!

This TPS black-but-not-solid black dress brings to mind a problem I have.

There’s this tone-on-tone jacket I bought at the end of fall sales last year. It has bell sleeves. The background color is black and the “top’ color is brown in gentle swirled/rippled pattern. The fabric’s hand is flat.

What in the world do I wear it with? All black seems severe to me, as in the black dress, or black skirt/pants and black top.

I’ll try to find it online, but as I said it was last fall and from a boutique.

Thanks…my office leans towards more creative dress options.

This certainly looks like the same dress, but is possible that Dillards sells it in the black-cream fabric while Nordstrom sells it in black and black-purple…I prefer the one with cream, but like Kathryn, I’m on the tall side and I’d need to be sure about the length.

They look like the same dress to me. The color choices are different but the price isn’t even in the same ballpark. (And everything is ALWAYS on sale at JCP so you really need to ignore the original price as it was probably marked that price for a couple of weeks.)

I don’t like the sleeves of this dress, they seem to be the wrong shape, too boxy. I think it would make those of us with broader shoulders look like linebackers. Would have to try on (also, to check that it was long enough).

This dress also comes in plus sizes as well. I tried it on at Bloomingdales, and it is a comfy dress (due to the fabric), along with looking professional. I don’t have the links handy, but I’m guessing Nordstrom’s or Bloomingdales online would have it.

Very cute, however, the one (and only) Calvin Klein dress that I purchased online from Macy’s appeared to be very cheap looking when I had it in my hands. Additionally, I ordered it in a size 8, it was very baggy and not figure flattering. It felt more like a size 12. Anyone else have this issue with CK?
