If I had $700 to spend on a suit right now, I'd buy this in a heartbeat.

Love the shape, HATE the detailing. It reminds me of the time I needed to hem a grey skirt and somehow managed to convince myself that staples would blend in seamlessly. My only defense is that I was still in high school, but still, ugh.

I actually think it would look best on a curvy figure, although perhaps a bit too sexy for the office. Maybe it would work for cocktails or something? The jacket would probably enhance an hourglass figure, but the skirt may hug curves too much.

If you live somewhere warm, the color probably won't matter as much since people don't really move into the dark colors as much in autumn/winter. The style is a bit more casual, so in colder climates you might be able to pull off wearing the pieces as separates. Even if you decide not to wear it at all now, if you got a good deal and it's flattering, there's no reason not to keep it because you can't wear it until spring.

Off topic - I bought this suit in "Moonlight" from Banana Republic last week, but I'm thinking I can't wear it until spring because of its light color. Right? I'm trying to decide whether to keep it.

I think they do seem a little short. I have a suit that has sleeves that length and I never wear it without a long-sleeved shirt under so that I have something covering my wrists.

Why not--might be perfect on you! The jacket, at any rate--maybe a different bottom.

You can see the seaming on the front of the jacket--there are visible black stitches--pickstitching--they look to be maybe 1/4" long each running down the front. The darts may even be raised--can't tell. I like it, but...
