I ordered this suit and it arrived yesterday. It appears to be very high quality, is more beautiful in person than online, and is extremely flattering. It appears that there are additional sizes available right now (and I have noticed that there are periodically others available too if you check back).

LOVE THIS DRESS! But as a shopper with a limited budget, I pick up most of my things at secondhand stores, so ever owning this ensemble is highly unlikely for me. It is very helpful for me, though, to keep up with Corporette so I can keep a hand on what's in style.

I have something just like this from Nordstrom from fifteen years ago. Very nice. I will now pull it out of the closet and wear it again!

I don't like it either, but I think this style of jacket isn't particularly flattering on me with the boxy shoulders and unstructured style. I feel like with a pear shape, this would just draw attention to my hips instead of accentuating my waist.

I grew up in a teeny-tiny town where the clothes-shopping was beyond awful, so I learned to sew when I was a teenager and made a lot of my own clothes, and learned about structure and cut and similar stuff. So, with apologies for the lecture-y tone: the dress's low-cut back is what allows them to cut the jacket so close to the body. With the extra bulk of the fabric in a higher back, the jacket would have to fit bigger. This is also why dress-and-jacket combos usually have sleeveless dresses - too hard to make the jacket fit nicely with the sleeves' fabric getting in the way.

This is a gorgeous suit, if you work in a chilly place and keep the jacket on all day, you have here a great day-to-evening outfit. Stick a flashy necklace in your bag, put it on for your evening out, drape the jacket elegantly over your chair, and voila, great restaurant dress.

While I'm at it, please let me register a vote for fewer clothes but better-quality ones. These days, sadly, a $150 suit just looks cheap. Anyone looking at it knows exactly what you paid for it. The cut is usually awful, and the fabric collapses after one or two cleanings/wearings.

Now here's something I wonder if anyone out there knows about. I understand about the cheap fabric, but about the bad cut: people have been cutting suits since forever, so how hard can it be to cut even the cheap ones right? If you're sewing thousands of copies of the same suit, does it really cost that much more to start with a decent pattern? This has annoyed me for ages, so anyone with any insight into it, thanks for sharing.

This is so gorgeous! I was going to splurge and buy it, but now size 10 is the only available size. Does this mean that it is not available in the brick and motar store either?
