Can’t find the link as it’s been a year, but bought a pair of black patent 3″ Ferragamos for work in 2008 Nov/Dec (they were in stores as late as April 09) with a fabric bow. They are comfy + stylish + chunky heels – and I’ve lived in them all year. Perfect for skirts & pants.

Ok I bought these shoes in the burgandy. THEY ARE SO COMFORTABLE! I think I will wear them with pants/jeans-not skirts, as they are a bit heavy to wear with a skirt. BUT-I will wear them outside of the office more than to the office! I love them!

I can’t decide if they are old-lady dowdy, Docmartinesque, or little girlish. For one or more of those reasons, I don’t like them.

Hrrm. Maybe I’m just in an overly analytical mind today, but what makes these particular heels dowdy? I’ll admit that they may be too casual for some workplaces, but compared to many chunky heels I think they’re nicely tapered and rather stylish. What sort of chunky heels do you wear to work? Links would be much appreciated! :-)

Agree with the last few posters – the chunky heel makes these look too dowdy for the office. I could rock the chunky heel as an angsty, rebellious teenager, but they seem inappropriate for the workplace.
