There is only one thing better than shopping in Hong Kong, and that's eating. From small noodle joints to upscale French restaurant, you will locate all sorts of restaurant, eating hall and snack stall on earth in Hong Kong. Here I found small amount of Hong-Kong-styled snacks online (yummiexpress.freetzi.com). This is definitely a good choice before I have $ for another trip.

Chicago K - I posted about the C25K program above. I did lose weight, but I was also doing Weight Watchers at the same time. But what the running program did was help jumpstart me on that last 20 lbs. I needed to lose - kept me from plateauing (too much). Also, it changed my shape. I have previously weighed basically the same as I do now, but now I can wear clothes that are 1-2 sizes smaller than before because the running has toned me. Muscle takes up less room than fat, even if a pound of muscle still weighs the same as a pound of fat! But I don't know how the incline walking calorie expenditure compares - I am a slow runner, so it may not be that much different. I think the couch potato program is so gradual that it won't hurt to try it and see. you can always go back to walking. good luck!

For those of you who did the couch to 5k program, did you lose weight?

I want to start running (i usually just incline walk). I can walk for miles and miles but running is hard for me...would like to try this, but know the incline walking burns a ton of calories, and not sure about slow running for 20-30 minutes helping that much.

Our housekeeper literally saved our marriage! I have the "lower standards/higher standards" problem compounded by the issue that my husband's mother never taught him how to clean. We used to have huge fights every Saturday morning because I would feel angry and resentful about wasting 1/2 a Saturday to clean the house - and I was the one doing all the cleaning! When we finally bit the bullet and hired a housekeeper it was a huuuuge relief. My mom was neurotic about keeping our house clean when I was growing up and it honestly created so much unpleasantness - she was constantly complaining about what we had or hadn't done to keep the house clean. Now, the housekeeper comes in every two weeks and in between I have no problem doing the "light" stuff in between. We never fight about cleaning the house anymore, and have more time on weekends for other things. If you think you can't afford it - resolve to eat out less (lunches + dinners) and you will find you can easily make room in your budget.

Two suggestions.
1. Autopay everything. After some initial fussing and form-filling -- I now spend 10 minutes a month sorting out my bills. (Note: I use HSBC in Hong Kong. Not sure how it works in the U.S.)
2. Jillian Michael's Shred is only 20 minutes and you don't need to commute to a gym. Half-hour tops with the warm-up and cool down. It's divided between cardio, abs and light weights. It's the most time-efficient exercise I've ever done.
