I’m always a fan of Marc by Marc Jacobs bags, and this lovely satchel is no different — LOVE the print on the inside, the numerous pockets, and the size. Cute! I love the outside zipper pocket (it looks kind of like a coin purse sewed to the outside of the purse, but in a good way).

Hoping you all can help me out: I’m a 34DD (natural), and I’m starting a workout routine that includes a fair amount of running and other cardio. I’ve found all my sports bras to be incredibly uncomfortable and lacking in support. Any recommendations??

I’m the same size and have had a lot of luck with Moving Comfort bras. I get mine at City Sports in DC. If you’re in a city with City Sports, I’d recommend them as they have a great selection (and, although I’m sure this varies by location, I’ve always found their sales associates to be really helpful).
I wish I knew the name of the bra I used, but I went to a running store – Fleet Feet – they measured me and I ended up with a superhero-bustier-looking number that’s been phenomenal.
I’m a 36DDD and I like Glamorise sports bras. I have some that hook up the front, which is really supportive and easy to put on. I’d recommend trying them on or ordering from a store with easy returns, as I ended up needing a much different size than my usual bra size.
I use Moving Comforts too! They’re the only ones I have found that provide adequate support. I love them. I get them at Academy, but I’m not sure if those are outside of Texas.
Also, they come in actual bra sizes rather than just small, medium, and large, and the Maia (or something like that) is the style I use. It specifically only runs in cup sizes C and up, which I think testifies to its great support.
I am not super well-endowed, but have had sports bra support issues, and found Nike has some super-supportive sports bras. I have had good luck asking the sales staff at sporting goods stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods. They told me that many “sports bras” are more like gym fashion wear, or designed for yoga rather than running or biking or jumping. They can direct you to the stuff you need.
I have two favorites: moving comfort frog bra (very stretchy, 30% lycra or something, really only compression, but COMPRESSION). Just started wearing the lululemon tatatamer (what a stupid name) and I love it! Theres a bit more separation and less uniboob, but very supportive and comfortable. I’m a 36D who runs and does step, so I feel ya.
Frog Bra. Get it at Title Nine. It is, as they warn, a “major masher” bra, but it’s fantastic. Literally feels like you don’t have any boobs.
I am also a 34DD and I second the Tata Tamer form Lululemon. Great support AND a removable insert for extra “privacy” to prevent “headlights”. The best!
Another vote for Moving Comfort. They are GREAT. Once I figured out what kind I liked (after trying on in-store and test-running), I now order them from runningwarehouse(dot)com.
I swear by wearing two sports bras at the same time. I just wear generic, compression-type sports bras by Champion ($15 at Target), and layer them. It definitely leaves you smushed, but it also is really supportive. It is absolutely the most comfortable option for me, for running. Plus you can do cute things with layering different colors, if you’re so inclined!
Just tried this today and loved it! I wear the cheap ones for strength training days and the expensive ones for running. I only had the cheapos in my bag and I was running today so I wore two. I found it a little warm though.
me too, I double up on cheap sports bras and then wear one of those bra-camis on top. My girls stay in place!
This is probably not as enlightened or high-tech as what other commenters are suggesting. But: Back when I ran, I would wear a sports bra and then, over it, one of those exercise tank tops with a strong built-in bra. This did a decent job of subduing my DDs.
I do this as well, or just wear two Champion sports bras. But I’ve never been a cute runner in any aspect – I always look like I’m two steps from death when I’m running.
Totally with Anon Runner, Carly, and JJ. Always just wore two, one Champion or the like from Target, with underwire, and one compression-style sport tank over that. Nothing really moved, all was smushed flat(ter).
Same here w/the two sports bras — even works w/the simple, cheapie ones, as long as there are two.
I use the Powersleek Sports Bra from Champion when running. I’m also a 34DD and it immobilizes everything in a wonderful way. It’s made running comfortable.
Surprised no one has mentioned Enell. I’m a 32F and a runner, and NO MOVEMENT. Seriously. Amazing.
Agreed! Enell is the best I’ve ever been able to find … hideously ugly, but does the job!
ADS – we should talk bathing suits next! Those are insanely difficult to fit for us busty gals.
I’m a 38DD, and I’ve had luck with Athleta (owned by the same company as Gap and Banana Republic). I like that they come in actual bra sizes, instead of just S, M, L, etc., and have adjustable straps.
For running or high impact, I’ll layer it with a bra top, but just the bra and a t-shirt work for everything else.
From the world of 36DD, I have two suggestions: first, try titlenine.com – lots of sports bras, nicely tested and rated; second – regular sports bras but wear two at once. I’ll credit Marilu Henner for that second rec.

I’ve always thought it was a little silly (maybe the commercial is too cheesy?), but as I safety-pinned my cami to my bra straps this morning I started to reconsider. It would be convenient….
I think it’s silly for sure, but at the same time I am intrigued. I hate the way camis sometimes bunch up under skirts/pants when I tuck them in and I feel like this would eliminate that issue.

The only thing is, they have lace on them, and come in colors I don’t need like brown and navy. Please ladies. That cami secret looks terrible. I found a slip on, 6-8 inch long lace cami top that you just hook onto to your bra straps. It goes all around and not just lay there like a piece of bib. I can only imagine how awkward it would be if that little piece of bib just popped out while one is in a meeting etc.
I would be safe and little bit more stylish with the Target product.
I do not remember what brand it is and am too busy to look it up online right now. Maybe later if anyone is interested.

Warning- I bought a patent leather Marc by Marc Jacobs wallet and the PVC coating on the leather was already cracked on arrival and peeled horribly within 2 months of my buying it. I emailed customer service to ask where I could get it repaired, after a month of no response I re-emailed them and CCed in the woman who was on the website as the contact for accessories, a month later (no response yet) I went into the nearest shop, had the manager email customer service, who said they’d never gotten my emails. I forwarded them the emails I sent previously and only then did they agreed to replace it. It’s been 8 weeks and I have yet to receive it, though they said 6-8 weeks, so I’m not miffed about that.
That being said, the poor quality of the wallet (for $200, which isn’t outrageous, but kind of steep for a not-large wallet) and the customer service hassle were a big turn-off. I actually wish I could just get a refund, since my old whatever-brand $80 wallet holds everything and is in great shape after 3 years. I’m a sucker for cute colors and great lining, though…
I have found some M by MJ bags to be quite cheap looking for the cost. Granted, I get, it’s supposed to be a lower price point than actual MJ, but if I am paying in the hundreds for something (even if it’s $200-300 on sale) I expect quality and good workmanship. Maybe that’s become unreasonable? But as I can still (for now) get that from brands like Cole Haan and Elliot Lucca, I guess I’ll stick to those.

this is a gorgeous bag. does anybody have an opinion about a young student lawyer in a large conservative firm pairing a caramel-coloured bag with black shoes, or a grey or black suit? and is it still necessary for bags to match shoes, or have things changed since my mother worked in a large law office?
I like black purses but have various colors of shoes/suits. No one has ever said anything about it to me, except for one of my best friends, who would notice if someone’s shoes and belt were a slightly different shade of camel brown. I think matching accessories to shoes might still be a rule. Personally, I hate re-packing purses and I don’t have enough money to have a purse to match every pair of shoes. So I ignore the rule. :-)
Camel goes with practically any shade of clothing. Even better than a black bag, IMO.
Oh, no, bags don’t need to match shoes at all. It’s much chic-er not to, honestly.
I don’t like patchwork leather bags, but I do like the Marc Jacobs store on Filmore St. in San Francisco – has anyone else been there?
