This strikes us as a great deal on a basic purse — it’s made of a “soft tumbled cowhide,” has a zipper top, and isn’t overly big (11″x11″x6″) and is perfect in its simplicity. It was $325, now $162 — available at Kate Spade in black, chocolate, and a fun green “fern.” Westbury Medium Serena

A Clean and Well Lighted Space: Your Closet?
Last week in our conversation of clothes storage for the closet-impaired, some folks started talking about how they kept their work clothes separate from their weekend clothes. Yes! I thought. I do that toooooooooo! But that’s a whole other post! So, ladies, open thread: how do you like to organize your closet? (In fact — we haven’t done this before, but if you love your closet, send us pics and we’ll chose the top 5 to discuss. Either email a .jpg to [email protected], or upload to Flickr and tag it “corporette.”) My own closets, after the jump…
Thursday’s TPS Report: ‘Heartland’ Tweed Sheath Dress
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Nordstrom has a number of great dresses marked down to the $60 range, including this attractive tweed sheath dress, perfect for cold weather. We’d pair it with a bright emerald or royal blue cardigan for a more casual fall day, or perhaps a winter white blazer and dark tights for a more wintery day. Lovely. It was $118, now $59 (sizes 6-16 still available). Halogen ‘Heartland’ Tweed Sheath Dress

Suit of the Week: Theory’s Strategy

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
LOVE this Theory suit — the clean lines, the salt and pepper fabric, even the little details like the full lining and the three-quarter-length sleeves. The jacket (Theory ‘Kiersten K – Strategy’ Jacket) is $355, and the skirt (Theory ‘Joanie K – Strategy’ Skirt
) is $200 (both available for pre-order at Nordstrom).

Wednesday’s TPS Report: AVERLY Fit-&-Flare Cap-Sleeved Dress
Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Interesting — Lord & Taylor has a number of office appropriate dresses from a brand called Averly, which is new to us. We like this cap-sleeved dress with zipper details at the neckline and pleats at the waist — it seems like it would be great under a cardigan or a wrap, and the color is perfect for fall. It’s on sale, too — was $148, now $103.60 at Lord & Taylor. AVERLY Fit-&-Flare Cap-Sleeved Dress
