Frugal Wednesday’s TPS Report: Graphic Framework Blouse

by Kat November 23, 2011 The Personal Shopper (TPS)

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Graphic Framework BlouseYes, yes: I love a good print. This “graphic framework” blouse from Anthropologie is no different — but I also love that it’s got a V-neck and a flattering sash tie. I’d wear it with a gray boyfriend cardigan, navy pants, and perhaps a pair of kelly green pumps. It’s currently $49.95 at Anthropologie (was $78). Graphic Framework Blouse

Coffee Break – Commando Tights

by Kat November 22, 2011 Coffee Break

We are firmly into fall right now, and that means I am thinking tights. I had heard about Commando for years as being the best “opaque” tights, but it wasn’t until last year (when I got a pair for free at a Bare Necessities event, to be honest) that I tried them out — and they really are everything I’ve read. They’re opaque, matte, soft, silky, and (so far, fingers crossed) durable. One more thing to add to your Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping lists… At the moment they’re $34 at a number of places, including Bare Necessities, ShopBop, Revolve, Piperlime, Freshpair, Nordstrom, and Amazon, and available in black, brown, purple, red, gray, and olive. The Style of Cycling

by Kat November 22, 2011 Commuting

Reader S wonders if her refreshing bikeride to and from the office is harming her professional image… I ride my bike to work and struggle to look professional and yet arrive at the office safely at the same time. I’ve started keeping my clothes at work, and so now, I frequently wear leggings and sneakers [...]

Tuesday’s TPS Report: Sleeved Colorblock Dress

by Kat November 22, 2011 The Personal Shopper (TPS)

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Sleeved Colorblock DressHappy Tuesday! I think this is a really pretty, classy dress from Muse — and it looks comfortable, too. I particularly like the gathered ruching at the waist (flattering!), and call me crazy, but I think the polyester/spandex fabric has a great drape to it. It was $184, but is now $119. Coffee Break – Loose Rib Knitted Snood

by Kat November 21, 2011 Coffee Break

ASOS Loose Rib Knitted SnoodHmmn: I’m kind of loving the idea of a snood right now. It’s a scarf! It’s a really chunky necklace! It’s a cowl neck! It can even be pulled down and worn around your shoulders, a bit like a wrap/shrug. Asos has a nice looking one in a variety of fun colors, including a lovely dark green (pictured), a red, a bright yellow, a dark caramel, and a beige. Prices range from $14.38 to $21.56.
