Gift Idea: Shattered Glass Ceiling Paperweight

I always like Uncommon Goods for fun gift ideas, like this Shattered Glass Ceiling Paperweight. You could get it for yourself, certainly, but you could also give it to a woman in your life, such as if she’s a mentor or sponsor. As the product page says, it “symbolizes breakthroughs achieved by women past, present, and future.” (There’s also a necklace.) It only has a few reviews so far, but they’re positive. The paperweight is $48 at Uncommon Goods. Shattered Glass Ceiling Paperweight

Gift Ideas: Hydro Flask & Yeti

Here’s a serious question for the readers that’s very appropriate for a “Coffee Break” post: Hydro Flask or Yeti? I know people have some strong opinions on the best tumbler for carrying coffee to work. Hydro Flash has some serious accolades at Nordstrom, while the Yeti has the same over at Amazon. If you’re looking for a gift for someone who really wants to keep their coffee hot on their commute or travels, these are both good, affordable options that come in fun colors. So I’m curious to hear which is your preferred coffee transport method! Hydro Flask ($25) or Yeti ($30)

Gift Ideas: Cord Taco

Yes, the name of this product — the Cord Taco — might sound a little odd at first, but it’s been recommended by enough readers that I’m seriously considering giving it to a few people for gifts this year. I love that there are a bunch of fun colors, like this turquoise, and it’s something that’s affordable, functional, and a little fun. It has a lot of great reviews, too. You can get 3 for $16 at Amazon. Cord Taco

6 Etsy Shops for Unique Holiday Gifts

Shopping on Etsy for gifts is a lot of fun, but it can be overwhelming (a search for “silver earrings,” for example, brings up more than 1,000,000 results), so today we’ve rounded up six Etsy shops for unique holiday gifts. We’re featuring a few intriguing items from each store and we’ve included details on shipping — because somehow, it’s already November. (Here are the Etsy editors’ picks in their Holiday Gift Guide.)

Psst: We’ve also shared seven of the best shops on Etsy for workwear.

These six Etsy shops are good bets for holiday gifts — even for those hard-to-buy-for people you know. Readers, which are your favorite Etsy shops, whether for gifts for coworkers, friends, or family?

Gift Idea: NAP Touch Throw Blanket

I’ve mentioned this awesome blanket before, but I don’t think it’s been a while — and if you order today you can still get delivery by Christmas, so today seems just as good as ever. I’ve bought these a number of times over the years — first for my sick grandmother who had broken a rib and needed to sleep sitting up — second for my television-loving mother to nuzzle under — and, more recently, for us. These things are amazingly soft, machine washable, and they hold up like iron — all of the ones I’ve bought (as long ago as ten years now) are still in great condition. Brookstone now sells several iterations of it — textured blankets, “luxury” blankets, bed blankets, socks, robes, etc. — but if you’re looking for an easy gift that will be loved, the nap blanket is a sure bet. It’s $49.99 at Brookstone, and eligible for free 2-day express shipping. Nice!  NAP Touch Throw Blanket
