Tuesday’s TPS Report: Classiques Entier Belted Boiled Wool Jacket

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We like this simple boiled wool jacket from Nordstrom.  The boiled wool will hold its shape better than other sweater-y type fabrics, and the purple color strikes us as very flattering.  We’d throw it on top of a sheath dress, or perhaps combine with a pair of gray trousers and a black tee, with a brooch on that lovely folded collar.  It’s $228 at Nordstrom.com in sizes XS to XL.   Classiques Entier Belted Boiled Wool Jacket

Splurge Monday’s TPS Report: Furla’s Satchel

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Furla Handbags - B9o1bl41qmv (Agata) - Bags and LuggageOooo – lovely satchel from Furla.  We love the way the leather is folded, the fact that is has feet, and the size — at 15.5″x7″x12″ it’s big enough for a letter-sized notepad and a novel, but not so big that you look like you’re carrying an overnight bag.  The caramel color speaks to us, also — we’d wear it with browns and blacks in the fall, and with white and pastels in the spring.  It’s $599 at Zappos Couture.  Furla Handbags – B9o1bl41qmv (Agata) – Bags and Luggage

Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Old Navy’s Cable-Knit Cardigans

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Women: Women's Softest Cable-Knit Cardigans - Bougainvillea PinkReader A wrote to us, raving about the quality of this season’s cardigans at Old Navy — she noted that there are many “normal, pretty things this season . . . some great classic pieces available, and many of them (particularly the cardigans) seemed well made.” She actually called out this sweater, but after checking Old Navy.com we had to draw your eyes to this lovely purple sweater — it’s a great way to add a pop of color to an otherwise drab wardrobe.  We’d wear it with gray trousers and perhaps a white bodysuit blouse beneath it, and maybe add a black and yellow accent by way of an accessory — a brooch, a scarf, a necklace.  Lovely.  The cardigan is available in 8 colors, regular and tall, sizes XS to XXL, and it’s on sale — was $29.50, now $15. Thursday’s TPS Report: Geometric Sweater Jacket

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

iconReader E writes in to suggest this lovely sweater from White House Black Market — she notes:

The price does not reveal the quality…good workmanship, roomy, long sleeves, a pinch of real wool, and enough hook/eye closures to avoid gaping in the bust. I plan on wearing it with solid blacks, greys, reds in my fall/winter wardrobe as well as with tailored dark jeans and maybe black booties on weekends or casual office days. Can be worn now to combat ac if left open. The collar isn’t too big so as to be overwhelming and should also accommodate turtlenecks in winter. Sizing runs true for this brand’s cut. The hooks/eyes bring in the middle so there is a very slight, but welcome, cinched waist effect. This seems to fit in with my multi purpose purchase mindset and gives me the look of a ‘vest’ or layered look without the added bulk or LLBean/outdoorsy vest appearance.

It looks lovely! It’s $98 at White House|Black Market. Geometric Sweater Jacket

Wednesday’s TPS Report: Grey Twist Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
iconReader M suggests this lovely grey twist dress — which, we think, nearly sold out a week or two ago but is now available in the full range of sizes on the site (00-16).  We love that it seems a bit more conservative than the Black Halo line of dresses — the sedate color, the cut of the arms, even the very slight slit in the skirt — all strike us as great for a casual day at the office.  We’d probably wear it with a fitted blazer and the highest heels we could stand. It’s $148 at White House|Black Market, and reader M suggests trying code 8924 through 10/4 to get another $25 off. Grey Twist Dress

Tuesday’s TPS Report: Elie Tahari’s Holly Double Knit Skirt

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We love a sale on a good basic, and today we’re loving this stretch pencil skirt from Elie Tahari. The high waist, the leather belt, and clean lines make this a sure bet. Was $398, now $237 at Nordstrom’s (available in sizes 2-12). Elie Tahari ‘Holly’ Double Knit Skirt
