Wednesday’s TPS Report: Printed Silk Mesh Scoopneck Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Lynn Ritchie Printed Silk Mesh Scoopneck DressWe like this take on the black dress for the office — the geometric patterns seem interesting and cool without being too wild, and the neckline, empire waist, and ladylike length are all very flattering.  We’d wear it with a structured blazer in white, along with black or skin-toned pumps, and maybe add a single pop of color in an accessory, like a necklace or cuff.  Was $198, now $138 at Bloomingdale’s, available in sizes XS-XL.  Lynn Ritchie Printed Silk Mesh Scoopneck Dress

Tuesday’s TPS Report: Whip It Silk Top

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Nanette Lepore Whip It Silk TopReader P writes in to recommend this silk top from Nanette Lepore, which, she notes, “works in so many ways and perfect on an hour-glass figure.”  We like it also (particularly the combo of silk and stud detailing), but the obvious point here is to know your office — in a more conservative office this would work best under a buttoned-up suit, with very traditional pumps — remove the jacket to take it from desk to dinner.  Otherwise, we’d wear it with a pencil skirt, or perhaps a high-waisted skirt.  It’s on sale at Saks, marked from $248 to $185.   Whip It Silk Top

Splurge Monday’s TPS Report: Origami Jacket

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Happy Monday!  For today’s splurge, we’re liking this sophisticated gray blazer from Michael Kors, with some really interesting detailing on the sleeves.  We like a short-sleeve jacket for days where it’s ridiculously hot but you still need to cover your arms as well as look authoritative; they can also be great for in-between weather, because you can layer a long-sleeved tee beneath them.  (On the down side, they do little to combat the industrial-strength air conditioners most offices use during the summer.)  This particular jacket, made from wool, is actually on sale — was $1595, now $957 at Neiman Marcus (lucky sizes 6 and 8 only).  Origami Jacket

Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Ponte Split Neck Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Merona Ponte Split Neck DressTarget has so many cute office-appropriate dresses right now that we actually had trouble deciding which we wanted to link to today.  Ultimately, we’re going with this split-neck one because we think it would be the most universally flattering.  It’s definitely a casual dress at base, but accessories will go a long way towards changing the vibe of the dress — worn with a blazer and pumps will make it feel more dressed up, while it would also feel at home with sandals and a beach tote.  It’s $25 at Target. Merona® Women’s Ponte Split Neck Dress – Black

Coffee Break: Luciana Sling

Rockport – Luciana Sling (Slate Grey Fabric) – FootwearWe forget where we saw these featured, but we love the look.  Closed toe, mild platform (we think totally acceptable for the office), and interesting colors including slate gray (pictured), denim blue, or sesame.  The fact that it’s from a brand that’s known for comfort doesn’t hurt in the least.  It’s $109 at Zappos in sizes 5-11.  Rockport – Luciana Sling (Slate Grey Fabric) – Footwear

Thursday’s TPS Report: Wrap Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

We liked this dress when we saw it full price a few weeks ago, but it is selling out like hotcakes at every Macy’s we’ve been to (we featured it last week at the AK Anne Klein event in Miami and people were trying to buy the dress the model was wearing after she took it off!). It has sleeves, a nice fitted look, and discreet pockets if you want to stash your keycard — and it’s on sale. The red and black are $95, or the khaki color (“Tundra”) comes down to $90 with the 30% Off Friends and Family link. Because of the sale and popularity, limited sizes are available at AK Anne Klein — more sizes may be available at Macy’s. Wrap Dress

(Disclosure: As you know, we’re doing a promotion/event series with AK Anne Klein, but we are not being paid to feature this particular dress (beyond our affiliate relationship) — we just really like it (and have ordered it ourselves.))
