Wednesday’s TPS Report: Lauren by Ralph Lauren Amelie Short Sleeve Knit Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
dressFor today’s TPS we’re going to suggest this lovely sweater dress from Ralph Lauren. We like the silk/cashmere blend, as well as the ruching detail on the sleeves. It actually seems like a dress that would look great with a contrasting long-sleeved turtleneck beneath it, as well as on its own. We’d wear it with a long necklace (and definitely a slip beneath it). It’s $140 at macys.com, available in sizes XS-XL, in both black and gray. Lauren by Ralph Lauren Amelie Short Sleeve Knit Dress

Tuesday’s TPS Report: Charles by Charles David’s Melange Pump

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Women's shoes/bags: Charles by Charles David Melange - Dark brown
Happy first day of fall!  We’re liking these simple but interesting 3″ pumps from Charles by Charles David — the three different colors of brown make it sure to match something you own that is brown, and we like the layered look of the leather.  It’s available in navy, as well, in sizes 5-10 at Piperlime, for $115.  (There are pretty good sales going on at Piperlime, anyway — use code TREAT through 9/23 to take 20% off all shoes and handbags; if you’re buying from Piperlime and another store in the Gap family you can get free shipping with code SHIPPL. Gap also has a “take 20% off through 9/25” code, EXTRA20.)  Women’s shoes/bags: Charles by Charles David Melange – Dark brown

Splurge Monday’s TPS Report: Trina Turk ‘Westcott’ Skirt

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We’re loving the tweeds at the moment, for some reason, including this lovely multi-colored skirt from Trina Turk.  Normally, rainbow-colored items are totally inappropriate, but the chunky tweed has a way of muting the reds, blues, greens, and yellows speckled throughout this skirt; also, the vaguely vertical pattern seems incredibly flattering.  The 23″ skirt is $218 at Nordstrom’s, in sizes 0-12.  Trina Turk ‘Westcott’ Skirt

Bargain Friday’s TPS Report: Dialogue Elbow Sleeve Ballet Neck Ponte Knit Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
DRESSReader M suggests this lovely dress from, as she says, an “unexpected source” — QVC.  She writes: “I love this dress so much, I bought it twice–once in black, and again in charcoal–something I never do.  It’s easily dressed up or down by adding a scarf, brooch, pearls, a cardigan, belt, or jacket.”  We agree–between the flattering neckline and the ladylike length, it’s a great basic for work. It’s available for $40, in sizes XS-3X, at QVC.com.  Dialogue Elbow Sleeve Ballet Neck Ponte Knit Dress

Thursday’s TPS Report: Nicole Miller Matte Jersey Sheath

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Reader A suggests this jersey sheath by Nicole Miller, noting “I adore the turquoise because it makes me feel like I can get away with something bright and trendy, while still remaining classic.” We also like the color (and the sales price!), and think it will look great in some markets, like the South, where a brightly-colored suit is popular.  For a more urban market like New York, we’d mute it with a long boyfriend cardigan in black or gray, belted.  It’s on sale for $74 at Nordstrom’s (was $188).   Nicole Miller Matte Jersey Sheath

Wednesday’s TPS Report: Anthropologie’s Laced Roses Cardigan

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
We love the vibrant colors and pattern of this cotton cardigan from Anthropologie — the crochet, the buttons, the bracelet sleeves — altogether it’s feminine and beautiful.  Because it is so feminine we’d wear it with trousers (perhaps we’d try a pinstripe if we were very daring) and a simple black or white shell beneath it, or perhaps a bodysuit blouse. It’s $128 at Anthropologie.  Laced Roses Cardigan
