AK Anne Klein

AK Anne Klein - Boat Neck Top w/ Georgette Sleeves (Dark Coral Clay) - ApparelOooh: I really love this top from AK Anne Klein. It’s a simple, floaty cotton top, but the georgette sleeves add a touch of feminity. It strikes me as the kind of thing that would look great under a jacket or by itself. It was $79 but is now around $60 at Zappos.com (available in dark coral clay, pictured, and a dark brown “walnut”). AK Anne Klein – Boat Neck Top w/ Georgette Sleeves (Dark Coral Clay) – Apparel

AK Anne Klein Poppin Kitten heels are either the “hot new trend” or the “classic that’s back in style,” depending on your point of view. Personally, I love kitten heels for the office, particularly with pants — with a low enough heel, you can even wear the same pants you wear with flats. Anne Klein has a number of shoes on sale today, including this fabric-covered kitten heel with a fun button detail on the toe. It’s available in the black fabric as well as a bronze — was $79.99, now $49.99. Poppin Kitten Heel

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.  Today’s post is sponsored by AK Anne Klein.

As you guys know, we’ve been helping promote AK Anne Klein this month with some appearances at Macy’s stores around the country.  (Our last one is this Saturday in Edina, Minnesota — please come out and join us!  Click here for more details.)  What this means is that we’ve gotten really familiar with the AK Anne Klein pieces available right now, and can recommend a bunch of great options for when you want to look authoritative but fashionable at the same time.  (They’re also one of the few suiting brands that offers both regular and plus sizes.)   (Although this post is sponsored by AK Anne Klein, all opinions expressed herein are those of your usual blogger, Kat Griffin.)

It often seems to us that a gray suit is friendlier than a black or navy suit — less severe, and a great option for mixing with so, so many colors, from a crisp blue blouse to a jewel-toned shell like a red or even a teal.  This jacket is particularly nice because it has a really slight grid pattern to it.  Available in regular and women’s sizes, the jacket (Mini-Grid Blazer) is $169, the matching pants (Mini Grid Slim Bootleg Pant) are $99, and the skirt (Mini Grid Slim Skirt) is $89.  (I have this suit myself.)
A basic navy suit is a must in a working woman’s wardrobe, particularly for those big meetings and appearances — and a pinstripe adds a vertical element, which is always flattering.  The blazer (Platinum Ink Multi Three Button Notch Blazer) is $139, with matching pants (Platinum Ink Multi Pant) for $99 and a matching skirt (Platinum Ink Multi Straight Skirt) for $89.
Graystone Sheath Dress We’re also loving this flattering gray sheath dress, with a slightly interesting curved neckline.  (We have tried it on and can attest:  the neckline is totally appropriate for the office, and the length is fine for a 5’4″ frame.)  We’d wear it with a blazer, such as this Stand Collar One-Button Jacket (now $74), for a more buttoned-up look, or with a cardigan for a more casual, but still office appropriate, vibe.  The dress (Graystone Sheath Dress) is $129 — but note that Anne Klein has a sale on dresses this week — all are 30% off.  (And shipping is free if you order more than $75.)
This was another one of my favorites from their current collection.  It’s not quite a red — more of a coral — but it adds a bit of fun, and shows you’re confident enough to wear a color.  This one is particularly great because it has a real structure to it, and is a nice, substantial material (and the pockets are real).  (Here’s how I built an outfit around the blazer.)  The jacket (Two Button Blazer) is $110, available in both regular and women’s sizes.

Wrap DressWe liked this dress when we saw it full price a few weeks ago, but it is selling out like hotcakes at every Macy’s we’ve been to (we featured it last week at the AK Anne Klein event in Miami and people were trying to buy the dress the model was wearing after she took it off!). It has sleeves, a nice fitted look, and discreet pockets if you want to stash your keycard — and it’s on sale. The red and black are $95, or the khaki color (“Tundra“) comes down to $90 with the 30% Off Friends and Family link. Because of the sale and popularity, limited sizes are available at AK Anne Klein — more sizes may be available at Macy’s. Wrap Dress

(Disclosure: As you know, we’re doing a promotion/event series with AK Anne Klein, but we are not being paid to feature this particular dress (beyond our affiliate relationship) — we just really like it (and have ordered it ourselves.))

AK Anne Klein Women's Christa Basic PumpReader J wrote in to sing the praises of these wine-colored pumps from AK Anne Klein:

They’re quite comfortable, the heel isn’t too high, and the cut out on the inside of the shoe gives it a little visual interest. And I love the wine color – not quite a neutral and not so bright that it couldn’t be worn with a wide variety of outfits The price point certainly doesn’t hurt either!

Oooh, we like. They’re on sale at Endless for $37 to $68 (the wine ones are $54), in sizes 6-10. AK Anne Klein Women’s Christa Basic Pump
