Splurge Tuesday’s TPS Report: Printed Wrapped Waist Silk Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Issa Printed Wrapped Waist Silk DressWow: love this multiprink silk dress from Issa, available at MyTheresa. The blues, purples, and reds — along with what looks like several animal prints and at least one geometric print — all make for such a crazy dress that it’s too fun not to love. For the office, I’m particularly fond of the subdued neckline and elbow-length sleeves, as well as the sash detail at the waist. It was $635, but is now marked to $385 (limited sizes only, alas). P.S. Please bear with us — as you can see we’re having some troubles with a backend theme update. Sigh.

Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Animal Print Blouse

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

I am loving this blouse from Sabine, available at Piperlime. Love the relaxed vibe to it and the colors. For the office, I’d wear this with a high white camisole (because I am opposed to nude-for-you camisoles) and a blazer, tucked in.  In terms of accessories, almost any necklace would work — if I wanted to give it some gravitas I’d wear my pearls, and if I wanted to have more fun with it I might layer some more delicate pendant necklaces.  It was $89, but is now marked to $44.99. Coffee Break – Pop Color Snake Print Belt

Pop Color Snake Print BeltI’m always a sucker for a royal blue snake print belt — and when it comes in green and magenta as well for under $30, I take notice. They’re $29.50 at LOFT. Pop Color Snake Print Belt

Coffee Break – Patent & Hair Calf Ballet Pumps

Stuart Weitzman Patent & Hair Calf Ballet PumpsReader A wrote in to recommend these cute pumps, which she swears are the most comfortable pair of shoes she has ever purchased. “Yes, pricey…but given that they go with black, tan, and many solids, quite worth it. They have padded insoles too. Super comfy (and have converted me from Ferragamo! The heel height is great for skirts and pants, and if you need to do a lot of walking. They also look super conservative & probably the only way I’d wear animal print to work. FWIW: I’m Ms Bigfoot (size 9-9.5), wide feet and with bunions. And they’re still comfy.” Love it! I think they’d look great with basic black or brown, and I might try them with a dark burgundy A-line skirt as well.  They’re $335 at Saks.  Stuart Weitzman Patent & Hair Calf Ballet Pumps

Coffee Break – Snakeskin Leather Heel Pumps

Snakeskin Leather Heel PumpsWow: love, love, love the snakeskin heel on these brown suede pumps. (Note that they’re also available in a gray suede.) The snakeskin adds a little texture and pizzazz to an otherwise boring look, and it’s the perfect way for even the most conservative dressers to dip their toes in the waters of wearing animal prints to the office. The heels were $198, but are now on sale for $79.20. Snakeskin Leather Heel Pumps

Coffee Break – Serena Hobo Bag

Kate Spade New York - Medium Serena (Coconut/Cream) - Bags and LuggageZappos seems to have a number of Kate Spade items marked down still, and this Serena hobo caught my eye. I like the black and white print here — I don’t think it’s properly a “zebra” print, but it does remind me of an animal print in general. I like that it’s black and white (very versatile) but a little wild (animal) — I also like the chain detailing on the strap. It was $325, and is currently marked to $260. Nice!
