Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.
Sometimes, a splash of color is just what a working wardrobe needs. We like this empire tunic with puffed sleeves from Anthropologie — worn with conservative gray or black trousers, it would be a great addition to a summer wardrobe, especially when paired with an opaque white cardigan. Available at Anthropologie; was $78, now $39. Big Island Top

We like this cheerful cardigan from Anthropologie for a casual Friday in the spring. At work, we’d wear it with wide-legged navy trousers, a white crewneck knit top, and pearls — then that evening we’d wear it with jeans and something lower-cut for wine and cheese with friends. Available for $98. Friendly Terrain Cardigan

This sweater is a great “festive yet professional” addition to any wardrobe. The double-breasted look (which we normally hate) works well here to cinch the waist. We also love the lantern sleeves, the slight pouf to the shoulders, and the folds in the back — you’ll look beautiful both coming and going. It’s on sale for $60 at Anthropologie (was $118). We like the navy version of this tank, but we love the white version. (We posted the navy because it was easier to see!) We think the ruching at the neckline would look great under a brown or navy suit, and the neckline is perfect to accessorize with a pair of pearls or a demure necklace. On sale, from $58 to $29.95.
