Bebe

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. This week, we welcome guest poster Becki Singer of Shopping’s My Cardio.

Leopard Jacquard Pencil Skirt - bebeBLACKThis just goes to show there’s fashion everywhere. Not in a million years would I normally suggest Bebe for anything, really, much less work-ready fashion. But this jacquard pencil skirt is exactly what I’m after this season. Printed pants are all the rage, but they’re tricky to pull off, especially at the office. This print is subtle with substance, the silhouette is as classic as it gets, and the navy/black palette can’t help but be closet-friendly. Pair it with mushroom, pink, or a rich emerald green, and you’ll have an unexpected wardrobe workhorse. This is also a great piece to use for your first pattern-mixing attempt. Add a zigzag or a tribal print in the same color family, and you’re instantly a trendsetter. It’s $129 at Bebe. Leopard Jacquard Pencil Skirt – bebeBLACK

Wow — there are some mighty colorful suits out there right now.  (For all the women who enjoy wearing suits on their resort vacation, perhaps?)  Anyway:  there seems to be a lack of fun, interesting suits, but this is one we haven’t seen before:  Italian topstitched twill suit, from Bebe.  We like the piping and fringe around the collar, and the ruffled pleating at the back of the jacket.  The jacket is $179, the wide-legged pants are $129, skirt is $109, and the bustier vest is $119.  (We’d suggest wearing a shirt beneath it unless you happen to work in a nightclub.)   Should you need them, matching short-shorts are also available for $89.

We aren’t obsessed with linen suits, or anything, but here’s a super cute one from Bebe that has a variety of options. First: the fabric is an Italian textured linen with a bit of spandex in the blend. The jacket has 3/4 sleeves and a great ruffled detail in back — available for $169. There are two pencil skirts, one with black piping (pictured) and one without, both available for $98. The pant is available for $129.

(Check your local stores — there used to be another jacket that is now sold out on line.)
