I’m intrigued with this blazer by Helmut Lang. From far away: it’s your classic black wool jersey blazer; perhaps a bit on the boxy side. But up close: I’m digging the interesting rolled hem. It’s $595 at Bergdorf Goodman. Rolled-Trim Blazer

I first saw this jacket a few weeks ago, looking for a Suit of the Week, and every time I come back to it I’m wowed by it — the colors! the shape! the style! It’s just gorgeous. Love the tweed, love the interplay of the horizontal and diagonal stripes, and I love the shrunken feel to it. ShopBop has it styled in a more casual way, but as you can tell from Bergdorf’s website it would also look great with more conservative duds. It’s $428 at both. Nanette Lepore Juke Box Tweed Jacket

Ha cha cha. I remember being incredulous the first time I saw the price tag on a Nancy Gonzalez bag at Bergdorf’s — yes, nice, but HOW many thousands of dollars did they want for it? But over the years I really have come to appreciate the structure, craftsmanship, and just flat-out beauty of these bags. In fact, for my $.02 I probably like her designs the best of the truly high-end bags like Chanel and Hermes. This one is $3,600 at Bergdorf Goodman. Nancy Gonzalez Linda Crocodile Bag, Red

Happy Tuesday! I am absolutely loving the wide stripes and the high button on this Giorgio Armani jacket. The interplay of the stripes is fascinating to me — the vertical stripes (of the arms, the shoulders, and just behind the button) contrast beautifully with the diagonal stripes, and I love that the diagonal lines on the lapel go in a different direction than the diagonal lines on the body. Fabulous. Was $2295, marked to $918 (lucky sizes only). Giorgio Armani Exclusive Striped One-Button Jacket

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
Oh, it’s fun to dream some days: and laugh if you will, but this Armani suit occupies some of my dreams. Love the fit (particularly the way the jacket flares out a bit at the bottom, with the effect of creating or emphasizing your waist), the pinstriped rose applique, and the single button. The skirt seems to fit well (even though the flounce at the back seems so, I don’t know, 2003 to me? maybe I just need to get over that), and the pants look flattering. The jacket (Double-Pinstripe Jacket) is $1375, the skirt (Double-Pinstripe Skirt) is $455, and the pants (Double-Pinstripe Trousers) are $595 — all available at Bergdorf Goodman.

Luuuurve this jacket from Akris. The springy green! The structured, fitted look! The textured, tweedy silk! Love, love, love. It is (gulp) $3,500 at Bergdorf Goodman. Akris Fine-Tweed Jacket
