This skirt is only $15, sure, but the reviews are glowing — particularly from curvy women. They say it’s comfortable, wearable year-round, and washable: sounds good to me. It’s available in brown (pictured), black, and gray for $14.99 (with free shipping over $50). Lovely. Merona® Women’s Jersey Skirt – Natures Brown

I am loving the origami details on this ponte knit dress from Max Studio. The details here all seem designed to both flatter as well as comfort — the empire waist, the belled sleeves, the looseish straight skirt — lovely. I’d wear it with simple pumps (with, perhaps, a wrap on standby) for a casual day at the office. The dress is $118 at Max Studio (which has a number of good basics on sale right now). Every so often, it’s possible to find a good suit for under $150 — but for under $60 is a rare find. I like this brown ruched jacket from Tahari by ASL — the peplum jacket looks flattering and classic, and could be worn with a multitude of other things (I’m seeing it with black trousers and, perhaps, a deep red sweater beneath), as well as with the matching pants. Was $280, now $60 — lucky sizes 2, 8, 10 and 12 only as of this AM. (If you buy other stuff, be sure to try promo code VETSDAY — it takes 15% off select items.) Reader S writes in to report on this lovely skirt, noting that it’s “a fabulous find for the money. The colors are neutral and it’s not obviously an animal print. The skirt comes to mid-knee (I’m 5’4””), is fully lined, and is made of polished cotton that hasn’t wrinkled all day. Best $20 I’ve spent in a long time.” Nice! It is, indeed, $19.99 at Target.
