Burberry

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.
Burberry Studded Trim CardiganWe are loving this sweater — it’s conservative and ladylike, but with some serious edge in the studded trim.  It’s a look that Burberry does well, and this basic wool cardigan (with a hidden placket) is no exception.  We’d wear it with an all-black outfit or, perhaps, a white button-down and a pair of maroon trousers. Lovely. It’s $595 at Burberry.com. Burberry Studded Trim Cardigan

Burberry Short Belted Wool Jacket We are loving this belted wool jacket — it’s such an interesting take on the sweater jacket.  Love the shawl collar and the slightly bloused sleeves, as well as the tone-on-tone look of the belt.  Fabulous.  It’s $550 at Burberry.com (available for preorder only right now). iconPolos can be great for the spring or summer, because they can be a cool look with a pencil skirt and cardigan, or they can dress up something like a pair of jeans for a truly casual office or networking event.  We’re liking this one from Burberry — the puffed sleeves! the checked collar! the 6 butons!  We also like the price for a touch of luxury — they’re $100 at Bloomingdale’s.    Burberry Basic Check Collar Polo (More colors available at Burberry.com.)

We’re loving the look of this classic-with-a-twist: a belted trenchcoat from Burberry.  The trench itself is as classic as it gets:  double-breasted, self-tie belt, slash pockets, epaulets, even gun flaps, for heaven’s sake.  The pattern, though, is so interesting — a black floral pattern crawling across a black and white checkered pattern, almost as if it were a shadow on a wall.  We love that they kept it black and white, also.  It is (gulp) $1495 at Saks, available in sizes 2 through 12.  Floral-Check Trenchcoat
