For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
For this week’s suit of the week, we’re liking this uncomplicated polyester suit from Calvin Klein with some great pleat details on the jacket — it’s interesting but simple at the same time. We also like that the fabric has a bit of spandex in it, to give it just a wee bit of stretch. The suit (Calvin Klein Suit, Black Pleated Jacket Pant Suit) is currently $129 (formerly $200) at Macy’s, and is available in sizes 2-14.

I have literally walked several miles in them in a day and they (and my feet) held up great. They are a good height for pants or skirts (2 3/4″) , fashionable but not trendy and come in great colors – even hard to find classic navy! This spring they had a nice cream color and it looks like they’ve just rolled out a black suede for fall. At just under $100, they are a good deal for such a comfortable classic. I have bought them in a couple of colors and couldn’t be happier with them.

Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale continues through this weekend, including this lovely knit dress from Calvin Klein. We love the royal blue color (it’s also available in a muted gray patterned print) — it’s bright, fun, yet professional. We’d wear it with a boyfriend cardigan (perhaps putting the belt on top of the sweater), or perhaps a long pendant necklace that hits above the belt. Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.
We like this basic black sheath dress for today’s TPS. We like the pleating at the bust, the belt, and the appropriate, ladylike length of it — it’s perfect for pairing with jackets or cardigans year-round.
