I swung by the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale online this morning to see what was left, and was surprised to see lots of cute things still on sale. I had not noticed this simple merino wool v-neck during my initial browsing (click here for my top 15 or so picks from the sale), but I love love love it (particularly in the “blue dark” color, pictured); it’s also still available in espresso and medium heather gray for regulars, and black, espresso, medium gray, magenta, and plum for petites. There are limited sizes and colors left of this cardigan, but considering that it came in 11 colors originally, that speaks really well of the sweater. A good cardigan is gold in spring, summer and fall, particularly when you consider unpredictable weather and overeager air conditioners. Great sale on this cashmere/silk blend long cardigan from Piazza Sempione! Love the strawberry color, the skinny arms but voluminous body, and the fact that you can wear it as a layer in a cold office, as a jacket on a warmish spring day, or belted as part of your outfit proper. This strikes me as a great follow up to our discussion last week about lace at the office, because I love the look of this lace-print cardigan from Banana Republic, currently on sale. It’s a simple, classic shape, and can really be worn year-round if temperature permits. I do wish it were silk rather than cotton, but ah well. I always like a cardigan for a casual day, and I love this creamy Leifsdottir cardigan with an ombre artsy pattern on it. I’d wear it as a layering piece with an otherwise boring outfit — say, a navy pencil skirt and a white silk tee — and perhaps pick up one of the colors in the cardigan in my pumps, such as the pink.
