Collared Cashmere CardiganNeiman Marcus seems to have a ton of great cashmere on sale right now for deep discounts — and even though it’s still a splurge, we love this gray cardigan.  The shawl collar is interesting without being distracting, and the whole sweater has almost a blazer-like quality to it.  We’d wear it with simple trousers and, perhaps, a tank or tee with a bold pattern or color.  The cardigan was $425, now $245 — available in gray and brown at Neiman Marcus. Derek Lam V-Neck Cardigan - Black This is a great example of a classic sweater that you’ll wear for years to come (with proper care, of course)… so it makes sense to splurge a little, particularly on cashmere.  We love the simple cut — wear it over a button-down shirt or a sheath dress, or wear it with a basic black tank and make a statement with a stunning scarf or a large necklace.  It’s part of Barneys sale going on right now — was $1,150, now $689 on sale.  Derek Lam V-Neck Cardigan – Black

Batik Garden CardiganWe’re liking this lovely white cardigan from J. Jill.  We like that the fabric is a mix of silk, cotton, and cashmere — all comfy, all handwashable — and we like the muted print.  We’d wear it with a white tee, and a pencil skirt, and perhaps add a brown belt on top.  It’s $79 at J. Jill (was $89) in regular, petites, and women’s sizes. Batik Garden Cardigan

Banana Republic Cashmere V-neck cardiganCall us a sucker for a pretty yellow sweater, but we’re loving this one.  Doesn’t the model look happy to be wearing it?  Don’t the gold chains look nice with it?  The sweater’s long one, so be aware that you’ll definitely be rocking the boyfriend/mad professor/doctor’s coat-if-it-were-a-yellow-sweater type of look.  We’d wear it with a white buttoned blouse and gray trousers (or perhaps brown or navy).  Love it.  It’s $140 at Banana Republic. We’ve heard great reports on Ann Taylor’s cashmere this season, so this sale is too good to pass up — a variety of colors and sizes, in petites and regular, with lots of cashmere sweaters.  Our personal preference is always for the v-neck, and we like this one a lot, as it is not too low, not too high, and has regular-length sleeves.  It was $145, now marked $69, with an additional 40% brings it down to $41.40. We’ve noticed this jacket about five times over the past four weeks, and we’re finally posting it.  We like the loose, sweater quality (lambswool and cashmere), combined with the jacket vibe.  We think we prefer the collar down, as Bloomingdales shows it (where it’s also, incidentally, still full price), but as Lord & Taylor shows it, you can also wear the collar standing up.  The red also strikes us as a good red.  We’d wear it with trousers or a sheath or, perhaps if we were daring, skinny pants and perhaps a collared tunic.  It’s $248 at Bloomingdales (all sizes), and at $124, in limited sizes (including petites), at Lord & TaylorEileen Fisher Stand Collar Jacket
