For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
Hello, beautiful. I love (love!) two things about this suit: that layered hem and the crosshatch fabric. First, the hem: it’s interesting! It’s different! It isn’t too fussy or overly feminine (no bows, ruffles, ribbons, or more). Second, love that dark charcoal color with a slight crosshatch pattern. Gorgeous. The jacket (Classiques Entier® ‘Ania Mélange’ Jacket) is $268, and the skirt (Classiques Entier® ‘Ania Mélange’ Pencil Skirt) is $148. A matching pair of pants (Classiques Entier® ‘Ania Mélange’ Pants) is $168.

Love the super-staturated fuschia color of this jacket — what fun. The raw-edge detail on the lapels is beautiful, and I like the ruffled, three-quarter length cuffs. I’d wear it with a sedate sheath dress or pair of trousers, or — if I were in an adventurous mood — I might incorporate some orange in the mix, either as a tank top, a necklace, or even a patterned skirt with significant orange coloring. (I think a solid-colored orange skirt would be a bit too… too for this pink, but that’s me.) It’s $228 at Nordstrom (sizes XS-XL). Classiques Entier® Raw Edge Collar Jacket

A number of Classiques Entier items seem to have hit the sales racks at Nordstrom, including this simple pencil skirt. I like the slight A-line shape to it, and the fact that it’s a “soft, lightweight flannel” fabric (with a lining) sounds lovely. Was $168, now $64.97 (lucky sizes only). Our love affair with Classiques Entier continues with this sweater. Love. Love! Love the inset waist, the shawl collar, and yes, the three-quarter length sleeves. It strikes us as the kind of sweater that would look amazing with a pencil skirt, on top of a sheath dress, or with trousers — or on the weekend with jeans. We might pair it with a bold tank or tee beneath it — perhaps a red? The sweater is $178 at Nordstrom.com. Classiques Entier® ‘Painted Parsival’ Sweater

Love the look of this Classiques Entier suit — and particularly the fact that the sheer chiffon ruffle is detachable. We like the way it’s so different from anything else we’ve seen, and we like that it’s feminine but not in a hit-you-over-the-head way. For day, we’d either wear the pieces without the ruffle, though — or wear them as separates. However, this suit strikes us as a fabulous answer for those times when you have an evening event for work (a charity event, a cocktail party, a gala of some sort) and want to look festive but professional — because if every other woman is there in a suit, you can just detach the ruffle. The jacket (Classiques Entier ‘Diffused Melange’ Jacket
) is $268, and the skirt (Classiques Entier ‘Diffused Melange’ Skirt
) is $148, both available at Nordstrom.

Reader A writes in to tip us off to this faux wrap top at Nordstrom, noting: “lovely colour, cotton silk means it can be handwashed & versatile design! I don’t like wraps as they keep shifting on me, but the faux wrap should work well…” We do like this one, and this deep wine color will be perfect for what we call “later summer colors,” when we put away our pastels and pull out our t-shirts and short-sleeved blouses in deep reds, browns, and purples. We see this piece working well almost anywhere, but if we were being creative we might try it over a V-necked or scoop-necked sheath dress. It’s $138 at Nordstrom, available in sizes XS to XL.
