Armani Collezioni Side-Stitched Jersey Jacket and Sleeveless Seamed DressFor busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.

I love the look of this jersey knit suit from Armani Collezioni.  The sunburst dart detailing on the jacket looks flattering and interesting, and the princess seams on the back look lovely.  Personally I wish the dress had a lower neckline — a jewel neck or even a scoop or a V — but the seaming on the dress looks really lux.  The jacket (Side-Stitched Jersey Jacket) is $1295, and the matching dress (Sleeveless Seamed Dress) is $855, both available at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Fitzwell - Kaida (Pewter Kid Leather) - FootwearI’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love a kitten heel for the office. This style from Fitzwell has numerous reviews extolling the comfort and style, and I really like the starburst pattern on the vamp. It’s available in “pewter” (pictured), black patent leather, and (in calf leather) black, brown, and navy. It’s $69 at Zappos.com. Fitzwell – Kaida (Pewter Kid Leather) – Footwear

Overstock has this lovely Tahari suit on sale today — love the slant pockets, the ruffled collar, and the simple pencil skirt.  Sizes 8-16 are still available for $99 at Overstock. Tahari ASL Women’s 3-button Jacket Skirt Suit

On another note, am I the only one bored of gray suits?  If any of you have seen non-gray suits that are interesting, please pass along!

Liking this tweed suit set from Talbots today.  I’m intrigued by the dolman sleeves, wrap effect, and ribbon belt of the jacket — I think you could get a lot of wear out of this as a separate as well as part of the suit — and the skirt looks like a classic.  I also really like that it’s available in regular, petites, women’s sizes, and women’s petites. The jacket (Talbots Grace Fit Sorbonne Tweed ribbon-belted jacket) is $189, and the skirt (Sorbonne Tweed pencil skirt) is $99, and a matching sheath dress (not pictured, Sorbonne Tweed Sheath) is $169 .

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Favorite Fit Stretch Chambray Bootcut PantsCalvin Klein has a number of cute items on sale right now (including a bunch of dresses that are outside the price range for a Friday TPS, alas) but I’m liking the reasonable price on these bootcut pants. They’re actually a blue, even though they look gray to me — it’s the kind of thing that is a nice change from your more usual, somber tones, particularly on a summer Friday. The trick to wearing blue chambray to the office is to keep the rest of your outfit polished — the styling in the picture is fairly on spot with the button-front shirt and the sedate heels. It’s also interesting to note that Calvin Klein offers sizes in both size and length, similar to men’s sizing. Anyway: the pants are now $39.99 (were $79) at CalvinKlein.com.
