Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.

We’re loving this feminine yet practical handbag from Antoinette Lee — it’s surprisingly large (14″x11″x4″) and the chain detaches, meaning you can go for the look of an oversized clutch (how Rosalind Russel of you!) or for a swinging handbag. We’re liking the yellow this morning, but it’s also available in a more subdued black or white, as well as more rock-and-roll type combinations with mixed leather (like, say, the black and gold leather combo). Pricewise, it’s not bad for an up-and-coming designer: $374 at Couture Candy. Antoinette Lee Designs Dolce Handbag

We like this happy blue leather bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs — it’s got a polka-dotted lining, inside pockets for your technology, and zippers that pull down to the base of the bag (which has feet, so the leather is protected if you set the bag down). It’s also a bag that we wouldn’t feel bad about having on our arm if we happened to be running around in the rain — April showers, anyone? We also like the price, which is rare for a Splurge Monday — $498 at Zappos, which isn’t that bad for a designer bag. (It also comes in a more demure putty gray, if the indigo is too much for you.) It seems one can never have too many totes, and this one from Rebecca Minkoff is a beautiful one. We love the interior pockets and happy, light-colored canvas lining (so much easier to find your stuff!). We think it would look great over your shoulder or dangling from your arm. Available at Revolve Clothing for $630 in black (with white and black floral lining) and red (with white and blue striped lining). Rebecca Minkoff Beau Tote in Noir

Ah, late summer, early fall. We love dark yellow for this time of year — worn with black, dark reds, greens, dark blue, it reminds us that, sometime, cooler days are ahead. This Rebecca Minkoff “Morning After Bag” Mini is the perfect bag — supple leather, zippered top, patch pockets on the inside, feet on the bottom of the bag, and big enough for your sunglasses, wallet, technology, and possibly a small book. Available for $550 from Tobi. Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Mini Bag

Happy Monday! Not so happy? Perhaps you feel like you’ve been kicked in the head already? Yeah, us too. But, good news! This is a four day work-week! Woo hoo! Still, you’re going to need sustenance to make it through the week, and we suggest this little ditty, to your right. Louis Vuitton bags have long been classic; the Alma bag is particularly favored among business women. Made of durable and luxurious Epi leather; it’s large enough to fit all your technology, a large paperback, a huge sunglasses case, and more. This season they have two limited edition colors, Grenade (at right) and a darker purple, Cassis. We’re sure both would be surprisingly versatile — after all, what can’t you wear purple with? Available at Eluxury.com for $1,240. Louis Vuitton – Epi Leather Alma – Grenade.

There’s something to be said for a colorful or interesting handbag — particularly when wearing the most basic of suits and blouses. This week’s pick: Junior Drake, sold at Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and online at Endless. Most of the bags are under $600, making this amazingly affordable for a line made with buttery soft Italian leather. Most of the bags also feature detailing such as braided leather, fun colors, and more. The sizes are good, also — large enough for your sunglasses, technology and makeup, yet small enough that it doesn’t look like you’ve got a change of clothes in there. (There are a number of larger bags available from this brand if you want them, though.)

The Juliette is almost perfect for carrying magazines and some light paperwork to and from the office — it’s got a bit of a punk rock edge without being overly confrontational. Loving the pleat detailing on the front. Junior Drake Juliette Satchel, available in black and taupe, for $458 from Endless.

Great hobo in elegant steel gray, particularly the ruching. Junior Drake Francesca Handbag, available for $400 from Endless.

This one satiates our desire for color — it’s available in glossy red, yellow, and white. Junior Drake Candice Hobo
, for $328 from Endless.com.

We love the almost tree-like perforations on the outside of the bag. From the Spring08 collection, available at JuniorDrake.com, for $328.

This Reese Satchel is deceptively large — 4.5″ deep and 6″ high. Junior Drake Reese Satchel, available in silver, cream and taupe, for $268 from Endless.com.

Although this one is called a “tote,” it’s actually the smallest of the bunch. The Ariel Tote has some great detailing: cinched belt and long tassels on the zipper pull. Junior Drake Ariel Tote, available for $198 at Endess.com.
