We’re loving this feminine yet practical handbag from Antoinette Lee — it’s surprisingly large (14″x11″x4″) and the chain detaches, meaning you can go for the look of an oversized clutch (how Rosalind Russel of you!) or for a swinging handbag. We’re liking the yellow this morning, but it’s also available in a more subdued black or white, as well as more rock-and-roll type combinations with mixed leather (like, say, the black and gold leather combo). We like this happy blue leather bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs — it’s got a polka-dotted lining, inside pockets for your technology, and zippers that pull down to the base of the bag (which has feet, so the leather is protected if you set the bag down). It’s also a bag that we wouldn’t feel bad about having on our arm if we happened to be running around in the rain — April showers, anyone? We also like the price, which is rare for a Splurge Monday — $498 at Zappos, which isn’t that bad for a designer bag. (It also comes in a more demure putty gray, if the indigo is too much for you.)
