FAILLE CROCHETED EDGE JACKETMax Studio has a ton of cute jackets for 50% off, including this interesting black jacket.  We like the ladylike curve of the neckline, the puckered (and functional) pockets, and the fact that it’s made from silk and wool, and lined in silk.  This seems like one of those great blazers to keep at the office and throw on over everything.  Was $348, now $168, still available in sizes 2-12.   FAILLE CROCHETED EDGE JACKET

Reader T writes to us to recommend this gorgeous blue jacket: “I had been stalking it online for weeks and it just went on sale, so I made the plunge and bought it. The color is a gorgeous vivid blue and while I am normally not a fan of the current ruffles trend, the fact that it is on the bottom of the jacket makes it look classy. The jacket runs true to size.” That blue is absolutely gorgeous, we must agree, and the cropped, ruffled bottom would be particularly striking on a woman with a longer torso. We might try it with a dash of a pale, pale yellow thrown in, or perhaps a mint green. It’s on sale for $135 (was $228), available in sizes XS-XL at Nordstrom. Classiques Entier Woven Jacket

P.S. Please remember, we’ll be in Louisville, KY all day today for our event with AK Anne Klein and InStyle, so comment moderation may be slow (or, at least, subject to the whims of our, um, staffers). (Hi Dad!) Also, remember, today is Administrative Assistant’s Day — we recommend some sort of external sign of affection/gratitude, such as a flower arrangement, for your secretaries. (However, as always, please feel free to discuss in comments!) (And — joy, it looks like the posts aren’t going up according to the scheduler for some reason… yay. We’ll do our best anyway today!)

One of our favorite places to shop when we’re in London is always the Karen Millen store — her clothes are professional with a bit of a sexy twist.  (She’s been in the States for several years now, although for some reason we never think of it when we’re near her New York store, in SoHo.)  In any event — we really like this cotton jacket for the office.  We love the way the stripes play off each other — check out the lapels (diagonal) and the belt (vertical) — without being too busy.  We like the cuff on the jacket, and the low button stance.  Great, interesting look — we’d wear it with a neutral sheath dress (black, we think) and perhaps shoes that matched our skin tone.  It’s $199 at KarenMillen.com.  Tailored Knit Jacket

iconWhite House|Black Market is having a great spring sale right now, including this peplum jacket, which we’ve been seeing everywhere of late. (A refresher: a peplum is technically a skirt attached to a jacket; in its 2009 incarnation we’re seeing short flaps on the frontside of the jacket extended from the waist down. It gives the jacket more flounce and accentuates your waist.) We like this for a basic black jacket to keep in your office this summer and throw on over — well, everything — if you’re not already wearing a jacket or cardi. It’s on sale — now $99, was $158. We love this great navy jacket with a preppy contrast trim — and with the ponte knit, this will fit and feel a bit more like a sweater.  Ann Taylor has a variety of matching navy pieces (pants, skirt) but otherwise, we’d recommend wearing this with a gray, purple, or white sheath dress or trousers.  It’s on sale for $69 (was $150).  Ann Taylor Ponte Knit Contrast Trim Jacket

DKNY 3/4 Sleeve Cropped JacketThe 20% off 70% sale rolls on at ShopBop (today’s the last day!) and we couldn’t resist going to see what we could get for less than $100. Our pick for today is this lovely DKNY cropped jacket. Yes, it’s getting a wee bit late in the season for it, but this look has been around for years and will surely be around next fall, as well. We like it worn with a shaped shift dress, or with a long tank or tee and a pencil skirt or trousers. Was $395, now $90 (!!) with the code “20Off70″. DKNY 3/4 Sleeve Cropped Jacket
