Love the muted, calming reds, blues and pinks of this Marc by Marc Jacobs dress. It’s also a great example, we think, of a dress that could be styled to be very hip for a date or cocktail party (as pictured, with messy hair and chunky, trendy shoes) — or dressed up for the office. For work, we’d pull our hair back neatly, add a long, opera-length gold chain, and perhaps a white, slightly longish blazer — boyfriend cut, maybe — and skin-toned, round-toed pumps with some height. It’s $248 at Shopbop, available in sizes XS-L. Marc by Marc Jacobs Shadow Peony Jersey Dress

Happy Monday! Today, we are digging this Marc by Marc Jacobs jacket. The double-buttoned trench is a classic look, but this strikes us as a colorful, fresh take on it. We particularly love the way the lines of the windowpane are slightly furry (alpaca, we’re guessing). Gorgeous. Alas, you probably won’t get much wear out of it until September — but that’s probably also why it’s such a great price: was $728, now $364 at Bergdorf Goodman (sizes 2-8 only). Windowpane Long Coat

Aaaah, loving this sweater from Marc by Marc Jacobs today. The deep V-necked opening — great. The flounced detailing at the waist — love. The stand-up collar — amazing. We even like the super wide lapel and the double button placket all the way at the bottom. It’s $290 at Net-a-Porter in sizes 4-10. Marc by Marc Jacobs Nessa admiral-front sweater

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.

We like this great black blouse by Marc by Marc Jacobs for today’s TPS. We’re loving the tiny swiss dot pattern and the tonal trim on the placket — we even like the Peter Pan collar. We’d wear it with gray slacks and colorful pumps (red, yellow, purple) or perhaps beneath a beige suit. Available at Nordstrom’s for $178. MARC BY MARC JACOBS Swiss Dot Voile Top

We like this happy blue leather bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs — it’s got a polka-dotted lining, inside pockets for your technology, and zippers that pull down to the base of the bag (which has feet, so the leather is protected if you set the bag down). It’s also a bag that we wouldn’t feel bad about having on our arm if we happened to be running around in the rain — April showers, anyone? We also like the price, which is rare for a Splurge Monday — $498 at Zappos, which isn’t that bad for a designer bag. (It also comes in a more demure putty gray, if the indigo is too much for you.)
