I really like the look of this jersey top. Love the interesting cap sleeves and the pleats in the front, as well as the scoop neckline. I’m more a fan of the navy (pictured) than the beige, but that’s just my own coloring. I’d wear it with a pencil skirt and pair of purple pumps. It’s $34.48 at Asos. Annoyingly, I couldn’t find much info on this brand when I was poking around the other day, but here’s what I’ve heard: Pippa Madison
is a designer exclusive to Bloomingdale’s, newly introduced and focusing on workwear; the brand may also be a lower-priced line from the designers behind French Connection. Information and belief aside, I like the look of this navy blue ponte jersey dress. Love the three-point v-neck, the slight puff to the sleeves and the small (reallly!) peplum details on either side of the waist. It’s on a pretty good discount, too: was $158, now $126.40 at Bloomingdale’s. Pippa Madison Ponte Jersey Dress

This strikes me as a cute and interesting take on the summer jacket. I like the curved hem and the chevron stripes, the slightly off-kilter buttons, and the black satin lining. While I admire the beachy styling here, for the office I’d probably stick with classic shapes in navy or beige — a sheath dress, a pencil skirt, trousers. You could keep a beachy vibe by pairing it with brown accessories and slightly hippie-ish jewelry (I’m thinking a shell necklace, for some reason), but I’d probably take it the other direction and add black accessories with bold pops of color: red, bright purple or yellow, maybe even orange or hot pink. It’s a decent sale: was $395, now $197.50 at The Outnet (limited sizes only, alas). Jagger linen-blend jacket

Happy Monday! (A rainy one, if you’re in NYC.) Today I am loving this simple crepe dress from St. John, whose entire brand is about quality fabrics, tailored impeccably, designed to last for years. And this is one of those great pieces that is worth a splurge — even wearing it just five times per season for five years means its cost per wear is $6.95. It’s available in sizes 2-16 at Nordstrom for $695. St. John Collection Double Face Crepe Dress

Neiman Marcus is having some crazy sales in its sales section. For the most part, only lucky sizes are left, but boy are they lucky! I am loving this ribbon-striped skirt from Lela Rose, which looks like it could be accessorized for all seasons. Was $695, marked to $243, with an extra 30% off – the prices comes to 170.10. This lovely navy skirt is back in stock at ModCloth, where it seems to have many admirers (47 reviews, 4 star average!). It’s a nice change from a pencil skirt, but be warned — this skirt can be tricky to pull off with authority since it has such a vintage, almost homemaker vibe. To compensate, I’d pair it with super simple black or navy tights, and either smart flats (a pointed toe is necessary here, I think) or, if it’s acceptable at your office, tall black or brown boots. Ladies, how would you style? It’s $34 at ModCloth, sizes S-L. Le Centre Pompidou Skirt
