Oooh: Love the geometric look to this necklace from Kenneth Cole New York. I’d wear it to jazz up a ton of simple shapes — the black turtleneck, a solid colored cardigan or boatneck sweater — and even as part of a more layered look, such as with a crisp button front blouse, open to mid-chest, with a meant-to-be-seen tank top or camisole beneath it. Thomas Laine has some serious sales going on on some great jewelry pieces. For today’s Coffee Break, I like this 36″ silver necklace with gray pearls and Bombay blue Swarovski crystals. I love the Art Deco inspiration, and the gorgeous blue stones make an interesting backdrop against a simple top, such as a boatneck sweater or top or even a blouse in gray or white. I received this necklace as a gift last Christmas from my mother-in-law, and it has quickly become a staple in my wardrobe — both for when I’m wearing all black, as well as when I’m wearing a color that I want a bit of contrast with (such as the coral AK Anne Klein jacket I’m wearing here). Today we’re loving the idea of a chunky, clear lucite necklace — which eBay has aplenty
, at very reasonable prices. We’d wear it with a casual outfit like a fuschia tee and gray pants, or even a colorful twinset and a skirt — for some reason we think we’d avoid wearing it with blazers or collared shirts.
