I primarily know Kelly Wearstler as a slightly daffy interior designer from some reality design show that I no longer remember — but I’m really loving her new collection of clothes. This relaxed silk dress (which I’m assuming is longer on those of us who are not models) looks like it would be a great dress for the summer, or perhaps even for layering during the winter. Love that print. It’s $385 at Nordstrom. Kelly Wearstler ‘Sao’ Printed Silk Dress

Well, well: Nordstrom has a number of Halogen skirts marked down, including this lovely blue number (and, yes, this reader favorite). I like the vibrant color, as well as the soft, stretchy knit. This skirt, at 40% off, still has an impressive number of colors and sizes left, including a red and a “dark camel.” It was $59, but is now marked 40% off to $34.90. Halogen® Ponte Knit Pencil Skirt

The Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale continues (see my top picks), and there are still a ton of great pieces left… including this chic colorblocked satchel. Personally I like the ink/violet/forest combination (pictured), but it’s also available in a more subdued black/fawn/charcoal combination. I love the luxurious look to the leather, as well as the numerous pockets inside — perfect for keeping your stuff organized and quickly accessible. The bag was $178, but is currently marked to $118. A great trouser doesn’t need much by way of exposition, but: hello, these look great, and Nordstrom has them in 7 colors, which says a lot about their confidence level. I like the aubergine (pictured), as an interesting not-quite-neutral color. I’d wear it with shades of gray or blue, or I might try colorblocking with a dark red sweater on top. They’re $198 at Nordstrom (sizes 0 to 18). Lafayette 148 New York ‘Menswear’ Full Leg Trousers

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
Hello, beautiful. I love (love!) two things about this suit: that layered hem and the crosshatch fabric. First, the hem: it’s interesting! It’s different! It isn’t too fussy or overly feminine (no bows, ruffles, ribbons, or more). Second, love that dark charcoal color with a slight crosshatch pattern. Gorgeous. The jacket (Classiques Entier® ‘Ania Mélange’ Jacket) is $268, and the skirt (Classiques Entier® ‘Ania Mélange’ Pencil Skirt) is $148. A matching pair of pants (Classiques Entier® ‘Ania Mélange’ Pants) is $168.

The skirt is what stands out most to me about this suit (which is, alas, probably why the skirt is not on sale even though the jacket is) — I love that little asymmetrical ruffle, as well as the fact that it has a bit of stretch. The jacket looks like a great basic, also — all those buttons and the vertical seams make it interesting without being fussy. The jacket (Nanette Lepore ‘Sultry’ Jacket) was $498, but is now marked to $248.90, and the skirt (Nanette Lepore ‘Betrayal’ Skirt) is still full price at $248.
