I first saw this jacket a few weeks ago, looking for a Suit of the Week, and every time I come back to it I’m wowed by it — the colors! the shape! the style! It’s just gorgeous. Love the tweed, love the interplay of the horizontal and diagonal stripes, and I love the shrunken feel to it. ShopBop has it styled in a more casual way, but as you can tell from Bergdorf’s website it would also look great with more conservative duds. It’s $428 at both. Nanette Lepore Juke Box Tweed Jacket

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
If you’re in the market for a lady tuxedo this season, my vote goes to this chic one from Diane von Furstenberg. Those cool lapels (moire) and almost a boyish cut to it — it’s very, very cool. I think the jacket would look nice on top of a sheath dress as well as worn with the pants. The jacket (Diane von Furstenberg Meyer Tuxedo Blazer
) is $465, and the pants (Diane von Furstenberg Tailor Tuxedo Pants
) are $345.

A lot of their stuff is way too out there for my taste, but I feel like sometimes the editors/buyers at ShopBop really know what they’re doing, especially with their BopBasics. These work trousers look perfect — a flattering wide-leg, good darts, a not-too-high rise… They’re $180 at ShopBop. Bop Basics Work Trousers

I love so much about this dress: the color, the unusual pleats, the pockets. The price, of course, is not the dress’s redeeming feature, but then, it is a splurge suggestion. It’s $695 at ShopBop. Willow Cap Sleeve Double Tuck Dress

Hmmn: let’s agree to ignore the unfortunate leggings and focus instead on the blazer, which looks like a great shrunken blazer. Love the slightly wide lapels, the length of the overall blazer, and saturated red color. It’s $198 at ShopBop. Bop Basics The Fiance Blazer

I’m liking simple white/cream blouses these days, and this one has a laid back vibe to it that’s nice. I think the structure from the sleeves, the collar, and the buttons gives you enough leeway to wear the blouse untucked at work; I think it would look great with the cigarette pants that are coming back (with flats, of course) — I might accessorize with a long, opera-length pendant necklace. It’s $198 at ShopBop. Parker Loose Long Sleeve Top
