We’re loving this cropped, fitted blazer, although not in the picture from Shopbop. This kind of blazer is a perfect way to dress up something with a bit more volume — a slightly billowy dress, t-shirt, or tank. The details are what make this blazer worthy of the splurge (to us, at least) — the silk lining, the 5 buttons at the cuffs, the peplum in the back, and the asymetrical hem. Lovely. It’s $385 at Shopbop.com. Elizabeth and James Panama Blazer

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.
The 20% off 70% sale rolls on at ShopBop (today’s the last day!) and we couldn’t resist going to see what we could get for less than $100. Our pick for today is this lovely DKNY cropped jacket. Yes, it’s getting a wee bit late in the season for it, but this look has been around for years and will surely be around next fall, as well. We like it worn with a shaped shift dress, or with a long tank or tee and a pencil skirt or trousers. Was $395, now $90 (!!) with the code “20Off70″. DKNY 3/4 Sleeve Cropped Jacket

ShopBop is having a great sale through Thursday, taking another 20% off of all items currently marked 70% off. The items are final sale, but you can get some amazing deals — such as this lovely wool/cashmere pencil skirt from Sari Gueron. We like the wale detailing, that thick center pintuck, the silk lining, and the fact that it has functional pockets. We also love, love, love the price: was $695, now 70% off at $208.50, and with the extra 20%, now $166.80. Use code 20OFF70 at checkout. Sari Gueron Pencil Skirt

Another great sale piece from ShopBop: this deep V-neck cashmere sweater. It’s a bit too low cut and sheer to wear by itself, but there are so many fun things to layer with it: button-down blouses, silk tie-neck blouses, simple t-shirts and camisoles, et cetera, et cetera. It’s a lux basic. Now $99 (was $198) at ShopBop. Bop Basics Cashmere Deep V Sweater

We like this — it is somewhere between a big fuzzy sweater and a shrug, and we think it would be a modern (yet comfy!) look for the office on a more casual day. We would wear it with a thin turtleneck, long necklaces, and trousers. Made of a combination of mohair, wool, and acrylic, the sweater is currently on sale at ShopBop for $109 (was $218). (Lots of great sales going on at ShopBop right now, incidentally.) Candela Globo Sweater

We’re heading into the season where you should be able to get some killer deals on coats, and thus far ShopBop is winning the race — massive markdowns up to 70% off. Today, we like this empire coat from Shoshanna. While it’s only a midweight jersey, you can wear it in both the fall and the spring (both with trousers to work and jeans on the weekend). We lurve the chevron detail on the pockets, sleeves, and collar. Was $440, now $220 at ShopBop (NOT a final sale). Shoshanna Stitch Detail Empire Coat

Our obsession with gray cardigans continues: we think they’re great for wearing with pretty much any color. Because they’re so subdued, they allow you to throw in unexpected pops of color with scarves, belts, jewelry, or shoes — for example, with this Vera Wang Lavender Label cardigan we’d wear a crisp white blouse beneath it, black trousers, and a royal blue belt. We also love the preciseness of the ribbed knit — it actually reminds us of pinstripes. We also love that this baby will be warm, being made of acrylic, wool, alpaca wool, and mohair. On sale for $147.50 (originally $295). Vera Wang Lavender Label Ribbed Cardigan
