I love the look of this shoulder bag from Treesje — the chain strap, the geometric look, the colorblocking, the flap with magnetic closure, the additional handle if you’d prefer to carry it by hand… lovely. Coffee Break – Valise Jenna Shoulder Bag

The classic pocketbook shape is becoming more and more popular (which I suppose is a nice change from all the hobo bags I’ve bought in the past few years, and the east/west bags before that) — and I’m loving this one from Cole Haan, currently on sale at Zappos. It’s available in dark aubergine (pictured) as well as black and a beige “nougat”. Love the snake embossed accents, the chains on the shoulder strap, and the the interior pockets. The optional messenger strap is nice also, but personally I always prefer the shoulder strap (this one is 7.5″, which should be fine for me). Ready for the price? Coffee Break – No Slouch Medium Hobo

A few months ago, I attended a press event for Kenneth Cole (actually a really lovely dinner hosted by KC himself) and all of the bloggers got to choose one piece to take home with them. I got this suede bag in a purpley pink and I have to say it’s really lovely. The suede is so much more interesting than I was expecting for the price point — it’s textured and soft and oh-so-touchable, and the studs on the top handle make it easy to carry and grab. The bag itself is nice and roomy, but slouchy enough that it doesn’t seem huge if it’s only half-full. It’s available in brown suede at the Kenneth Cole website, but you can also get in a multitude of plain leather at 6pm and Amazon. The brown suede is $328. Coffee Break – Gallery Leather Shoulder Bag

I actually bought this purse sometime last fall — it marks my first yellow purse. I like it a lot — it’s surprisingly big, and the leather has a nice, soft, worn look to it, which helps offset some of the shock of carrying a yellow purse. I love wearing it with grays, as well as with other colors — a cobalt scarf, a pair of red shoes, etc. The Outnet actually has a bunch of BCBG bags on sale right now, and this one is an even better deal than what I got — it was $348, now marked to $139.20.
