Talbots has a ton, ton, ton of great things on sale right now, including a ton of blazers, skirts, and dresses that are work appropriate. For this morning’s TPS, I’m liking this flannel tuxedo jacket . Love the curvy Kate fit, the classic look, and the bright pop of color (e.g., fuchsia, pictured, as well as black, green sapphire, and pigment blue). This one was $179, but is now marked to $75.99 (and available in regular, petites, woman’s, and woman petites). Talbots Kate Fit Flannel Tuxedo Jacket

Talbots has recently added a number of good-looking pumps to their sale section, and the prices are pretty good. I’m liking this slightly spicy “caged” platform pump, but there are a number of more conservative styles on sale as well. Most prices are under $100 — these are marked from $149 down to $44.39 (final sale, alas). Salena Suede Caged Platform Pumps

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
I’m liking this simple gray tweed suit from Talbots’ today. I like the ruffled back on the jacket, the full lining on the pants, and the fun black and white pattern. The jacket (Talbots Grace Fit Donegal Tweed ruffle-back jacket) is $199, and the pants (Signature Fit Donegal Tweed wide-leg pants) are $119 (both online only). A matching skirt (not pictured: Donegal Tweed ruffle-back pencil skirt) is also available, online only for $119. The jacket and pants are available in regular, petites, woman, and woman petite’s sizes; the skirt is regular and petites only.

Oooh: Classic. Great ladylike length, nice discreet side slit, and made of a comfy wool/spandex flannel? Sign me up. The skirt is $129 at Talbots, available in Baccara Rose (pictured), sand, brown, black, and gray. Luxe flannel pencil skirt

Happy hump day! Love, love, love the look of this dress from Talbots. The ruching details at the waist look flattering and forgiving, and I like the boatneck and cap sleeves — the whole dress seems designed to narrow your waist, honestly. It’s available in lipstick (pictured), a burgundy “baccara rose,” and a black — in regulars, petites, and plus sizes — for $129-$149. Ruched-bodice dress

Reader D wrote in to recommend this great shell, which, she notes, “has a beautiful neckline that’s lovely under suit jackets and cardigans. It falls at just the right length on the hip to wear untucked, but it also long enough to stay tucked in. I bought two colors today: “boudoir,” a pretty ballet pink, and “ivory,” a wear-with-anything soft white that doesn’t lean yellow.” I really love the pinch pleat detailing, and the wide straps to the shell — perfect if you’re comfortable baring your upper arms at the office. It was $69.50, now marked to $25.49, and available in about 7 colors for regular sizes, petites, plus sizes, and plus size petites. Pinch-pleat top
