I bought a very similar version of this shirt (in a voile cotton) last year, and it turned into one of my favorite blouses. Perfect for wearing under a blazer (the collar peeks up just so) and perfect for showcasing a necklace. I also like the fact that it can be worn out, belted by itself, layered beneath a tighter sweater, or even tucked. This year they have it in a silk dupioni in regular, petites, plus sizes, and plus size petites in 5 colors: “red desert” (pictured), a light pink, a cream, a black, and a moss green. It’s $79.50 at Talbots. Doupioni ruffle-V top

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
Liking this tweed suit set from Talbots today. I’m intrigued by the dolman sleeves, wrap effect, and ribbon belt of the jacket — I think you could get a lot of wear out of this as a separate as well as part of the suit — and the skirt looks like a classic. I also really like that it’s available in regular, petites, women’s sizes, and women’s petites. The jacket (Talbots Grace Fit Sorbonne Tweed ribbon-belted jacket) is $189, and the skirt (Sorbonne Tweed pencil skirt) is $99, and a matching sheath dress (not pictured, Sorbonne Tweed Sheath) is $169 .

And the sales keep coming! Talbots is having its “red hanger” sale, with reductions of up to 50% online and in stores (plus free shipping of $125 or more). This gorgeous jacket caught my eye. Love the “pinched collar” and pockets, and the fact that it’s fully lined — boiled wool can be itchy sometimes! There are a lot more sizes for petites and woman’s sizes, but still a few for regular sizes. Was $199, now marked to $98.97 at Talbots. Talbots Kate Fit Boiled wool lady jacket

Happy Friday! Today I like this simple seamless sweater from Talbots, currently 50% off — I like that it’s machine washable, available in 9 colors, as well as in regular, petites, plus sizes, and plus-sized petites. I particularly like the golf green (pictured) and the navy. Was $69.50, now $33.74 at Talbots.Seamless sweater

Reader M wrote in to request this dress from Talbots, suggesting to pair it with a black jacket. We like! The dark green color is somber without being boring, as is the other colors the dress comes in, a purplish “cherry brandy” and black. For our $.02, we’d pair it with something other than black — a dark gray, or a navy would be a fun way to play with colors. It’s nice that it comes in regulars, petites, and women’s sizes, as well. It’s $159 at Talbots. Ponte knit belted sheath

Talbots has some crazy 70% off sales going on, so it can be a great time to stock up. (Be warned: A lot of it is final sale only, so if you’re buying online, know your size!) For example, this classic pencil skirt was $129 — and now it’s marked to $29.95 (and still available in a ton of sizes, also). Faille pencil skirt
