Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. Many thanks to this week’s TPS guest poster, Stephanie from Adventures in the Stiletto Jungle.

Back in the day, as a newly minted attorney working my way up the ranks in the City Attorney’s office, I learned to love The Limited. This inexpensive mall store stocks a surprisingly extensive selection of office-appropriate clothes, including great “starter” suits for the young, fabulous and broke that are machine washable (three cheers for no dry cleaning bills!). Beyond their affordable suit selection, another great staple item to snag at The Limited is their Taped Cuff Shirt.
This basic button-down shirt comes in a variety of colors and patterns, each made from comfortable stretch fabric and cut in a figure-flattering tapered shape. It comes in sizes XS to XL and is priced right for buying in multiples. This everyday shirt will go with everything from your suits on formal days, to skirts and trousers for business casual, to khakis for casual Friday. Plus, the cotton/ Spandex blend actually wears quite well on an airplane, making it perfect for business trips where you have to go directly from airport to boardroom. The Taped Cuff Shirt is available for $46.90 at The Limited. Taped Cuff Shirt

I don’t say this often, but: there are a ton of cute tops on sale at The Limited right now. Essential shirts
, their work-appropriate basics, are 30% off, including this lovely wrap top in stretch cotton. I like it for work with a shrunken blazer or a fitted cardigan, and call me crazy but I love the deep, saturated colors (“ballgown blue” is pictured, it also comes in “deep orchid”). It was $46.90, but is now on sale for $32.83 (sizes XS-XL). Sleeveless Ruffle Wrap Top

Readers mentioned this dress in comments yesterday, and it seemed great to feature for today’s TPS. While I wish the skirt were just a few inches longer on the model, I’m hoping in real life it won’t be an issue. I like the khaki skirt and its pleats, as well as the boatneck top (and slight empire waist to the dress). It’s always great to see actual sleeves on a summer dress, and the pockets are also a nice touch. I might throw in a pop of red somewhere — perhaps a necklace or cuff. It’s $79.90 at The Limited. Sometimes, all you want is a basic cardigan, and this one pretty much fits the bill — the only detailing is some ruching at the neckline. Love the scoopneck and the wide ribbed hem, as well as the colors — the green would be great with black, navy, or gray, as would the magenta; it also comes in black. I like that there are camisoles available in complimentary colors, also (they’re $29). The cardigan by itself is $44.50. Premier Shirred Cardigan

The Limited has a bunch of cute new tops, including this black-on-black number. From afar, it looks like a regular black tee, maybe with a bit of a pattern on it — closer up, you can see the black grosgrain bow looped across the chest and shoulder. We like! It’s $34.50 at The Limited. Grosgrain Bow Top

The Limited has had some great work pieces lately — tops and dresses — and this lovely ruffle panel front top is no exception. We love it (love it!) paired with the white skirt; it might be interesting to try with a beige skirt also for the beige-on-beige trend going on right now. We might wear it with a pop of color, perhaps from a turquoise and gold cuff, worn high on our forearm. This top is part of the sale going on right now at The Limited (30% off tops, online only), so the price comes to $27.65 (was $39.50). Ruffle Panel Front Top
