The Outnet

Julie Haus Galena Printed Silk TopOooh: I’m digging this interesting silk blouse by Julie Haus. Now, The Outnet has an artistic-sounding description involving words like “digital-print florals” and “spliced mirror-image patterns” that sounds a bit like it came out of a museum catalog. Me? I just think it’s gorgeous and kind of ghostly. It was $315, but is now marked to $126 (limited sizes only, alas). Julie Haus Galena Printed Silk Top

Dolce & Gabbana Woven-silk DressThe Outnet has a TON of work-appropriate dresses at deep discounts — lovely things like this “rust” silk dress from Dolce & Gabbana. For once I love the keyhole at the neck, the tabs at the shoulders, the cap sleeves, the pleats at the waist — gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. It was $1900, and is now marked to $475 (lucky size 4 only). Woven-silk dress

Emilio Pucci Printed silk scarfThe Outnet has a ton of scarves on sale for up to 70% off right now, including a fair number of Pucci scarves. Love the sky blue tones and fun print to this one, as well as the fact that it’s silk. Gorgeous! Was $388, now marked to $135.80 at The Outnet.Emilio Pucci Printed silk scarf

Anna Sui Printed silk-blend dressMaybe I’m crazy, but even though The Outnet describes this Anna Sui dress as a way to “update your after-dark repertoire,” this looks to me like a great dress for the office. Love the dark muted colors that make up the playful print, as well as the high V and the pretty sleeves. The silk portion of the dress (the overlay) is a bit sheer, but that doesn’t concern me too much — it looks like just your back and arms are “exposed.” I’d wear it with a black blazer or cardigan (belted even) without much hesitation; if I could find a cardigan to match one of the purples, blues or greens in the dress I might pair it with that instead. It was $498, now marked to $224.10 at The Outnet (amazingly, still available in sizes 0-10 as of this AM). Printed silk-blend dress

Elizabeth and James Jagger linen-blend jacket This strikes me as a cute and interesting take on the summer jacket. I like the curved hem and the chevron stripes, the slightly off-kilter buttons, and the black satin lining. While I admire the beachy styling here, for the office I’d probably stick with classic shapes in navy or beige — a sheath dress, a pencil skirt, trousers. You could keep a beachy vibe by pairing it with brown accessories and slightly hippie-ish jewelry (I’m thinking a shell necklace, for some reason), but I’d probably take it the other direction and add black accessories with bold pops of color: red, bright purple or yellow, maybe even orange or hot pink. It’s a decent sale: was $395, now $197.50 at The Outnet (limited sizes only, alas). Jagger linen-blend jacket

I actually bought this purse sometime last fall — it marks my first yellow purse. I like it a lot — it’s surprisingly big, and the leather has a nice, soft, worn look to it, which helps offset some of the shock of carrying a yellow purse.  I love wearing it with grays, as well as with other colors — a cobalt scarf, a pair of red shoes, etc. The Outnet actually has a bunch of BCBGicon bags on sale right now, and this one is an even better deal than what I got — it was $348, now marked to $139.20.
