Call us crazy, but it seems like we are seeing a resurgence of that in-again out-again classic, the snake print. Animal prints for the office can be dicey, but we really like this simple shift dress from Tory Burch. The loose fit, the high boatneck — and the styling of the model, with the clean, low pony-tail — all appeal to us. We’d wear it with pearls and nude-colored pumps, and perhaps “grow it up” even more with a black wrap. It’s $395 at Neiman Marcus, in sizes XS-XL. Snake-Print Carmela Dress

We’re loving this sophisticated sheath dress from Tory Burch, available for presale at Nordstrom’s. We love the shape — the slight flaring at the knees is sure to be flattering, and the folds at the neck give it a more unusual, lux look than your regular v-neck or scoop neck. It’s $395 at Nordstrom. Tory Burch ‘Ardennes’ Wool Dress

We had hoped this sweater would be part of the Nordstrom anniversary sale, but alas, it is not. We love, love, love, the print and the flattering pink shade. It’s fun, it’s feminine, but it’s neither Barbie (the black pattern tones down the print) nor goth (imagine the sweater in a dark red). We’d wear it with gray slacks and a black jewel-neck t-shirt beneath, or perhaps over a black sheath dress. Tory Burch ‘Simone’ Merino Wool Cardigan

Today’s reader-suggested TPS comes from reader K, who couldn’t decide between this lovely dress and this dress. As she explains, “i am loving the spark of color and the conservative cuts, but i’m not sure if a neutral colored cardigan or blazer would be enough to tone down the technicolor going on here. Of course, there’s no way to justify adding both to one closet, so i guess i will have to choose between sleeves and a longer hemline– they just feel very versatile for weekend/work/casual/evening wear.” For our money, we’d go with the Esther dress (pictured). The longer hemline does look more ladylike and professional, and the black base of the Esther dress make it easier to add a black cardi, structured sweater, or cropped jacket. If the color explosion feels like it’s too much for the office you can always wear a black crewneck t-shirt over the dress (effectively wearing it like a skirt). But all in all, gorgeous dress — we love the outline of the placket and the pockets. Lovely! Available at Tory Burch for $425. Tory Burch ESTHER Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices. We begin the week in splurge mode, with our most expensive suggestions, and wind our way to Friday, where a less expensive item of clothing might be just what you need to make it to the weekend.

Green is a surprisingly versatile color — perfect in the springtime when worn with cool colors like gray and white, and perfect in the fall when worn with warmer colors like brown and cream (and it always looks great with black and navy). Despite this, green is a hard color to wear in a coat or sweater unless your skin tone is just so; it also tends to be a bit unflattering as a shoe color. But a green bag? Perfect. This one is particularly nice — it’s got a zippered pocket on the inside as well as two open pockets; we also like the printed inside lining. (We would probably detach the longer strap.) Available at Saks.com for $535. Tory Burch – Slim Calf Leather Tote

We love this gorgeous, unusual printed cardigan from Tory Burch. A tight pattern like this works well at the office because it achieves an almost abstract look from far away — yet up close it’s delicate flowers. We’d wear the cardigan with a white tank and khaki skirt over the summer, or on top of a black shift dress. The cardigan by itself is $295 at Nordstrom; re’s a matching shell available, too, for $225. Tory Burch ‘Simone’ Wool Cardigan
