A good black tote can be hard to find, and I’m really liking this one from Nordstrom’s Halogen line. Love that it has cell phone pockets (it seems like way too few North/South totes have them!) and I like the interesting look to the stingray-embossed leather. I like this boxy, briefcasey tote from Kate Spade — the crocodile-embossed patent looks really sharp. Zappos has a ton of cute Stuart Weitzman bags and shoes on sale,
including this lovely blue bag. Now I’ll admit, I have a mild obsession with blue bags — I once had to put a moratorium on buying them because I had 3 different blue bags — but that’s only because they’re surprisingly versatile. I’d wear this with everything from an interview suit to jeans and a black t-shirt. Love the large tassel detail on the pocket, as well as the fact that it fits nicely under your arms but is still roomy enough for a small book or even an iPad. Wow: I’ve admired Lauren Merkin’s clutches and smaller bags for years, but I did not know the line now has totes. (And iPad cases!
! Awesome!) I like this tote (pictured here in burgundy, but also available in navy and olive). Knowing her products, I’m sure the lambskin leather is ridiculously soft, and 11″x16″x3″ size is perfect for smaller papers and general commutes. The studs are a nice touch to give it some interest, but honestly I’d prefer a plainer bag. If they’re your thing, though, you’re in luck: the bag was $575, now marked to $230 at Endless. 6pm has two reader favorites* on sale today: both Stuart Weitzman and Cole Haan are up to 70% off. For today’s coffee break, I’m liking this Cole Haan tote/briefcase — the bag looks nice and roomy, as well as organized, and for those of us who dislike the messenger look, the shoulder straps are the perfect length. It comes in black, a brown leather (“Woodbury”), and a snake print as well as a gorgeous, gorgeous white snake print (pictured) — it’s really distinctive and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it. 6pm’s big sister, Zappos, seems to be offering the same prices today, which range from $226.80 to $256.80 (originally $378-$428).
