Today we’re liking this great tweed suit from Pink Tartan. We like the folded collar, which gives it that cool “popped” look, and all the other little details, like the piping, the pocket on the front hip, and the off-center slit in the back. The jacket (Pink Tartan – Tweed Stella Jacket) is $495 at Neiman Marcus, and the matching skirt (Pink Tartan – Harlow Skirt) is $296.

This week, the tweeds are calling us — the patch pockets, the sliiiiight shape to the shoulders, the wide collar. One minor question, though: if it’s cold enough to wear a tweed jacket, isn’t it also cold enough for pants? Alas, apparently not here — but still, it’s a very flattering skirt suit. The jacket (Classiques Entier ‘Mingled Weave’ Jacket
) is $268, and the skirt (Classiques Entier ‘Mingled Weave’ Skirt
) is $168. (Note that the jacket (Classiques Entier ‘Freckled Weave’ Jacket
) also comes in a multi-pink, but there is no matching skirt.)

Wow — gorgeous tweed jacket from St. John’s. We love the fit of it, the delicate fringe outlining the collar, and the simple black buttons. We’d wear it, most likely, as shown — with black trousers and a black top.
It’s $1295 at Saks.com (free shipping if you use code SeptShip9). St. John – Fringe-Trim Tweed Knit Blazer

Reader E wrote to us to suggest this lovely purple tweed suit, and it sparked our interest because it is available in regular, petites, and tall, which we don’t see very often. We like the two pieces together, but we like that they would both look nice on their own, as well — the jacket would look lovely, open, with a long-sleeved turtleneck beneath it and trousers; the skit would look great with very high heels and a navy sweater. Our suggester, E, also asked what kind of shirt we’d wear beneath it — we would advise either a thin short-sleeved scoopneck tee, or a turtleneck or other long-sleeved tee. (Either way, we’d cut down on drycleaning costs by putting a barrier between us and the jacket.) The jacket (Exploded Herringbone Stand Collar Jacket) is $238-$248, and the skirt (Exploded Herringbone Metro Skirt) is $138 at Pendleton-USA.com.

Oooooo: great tweed skirt suit from Theory. It’s the perfect color of gray — not too muddy, not too white — and it’s the tiny details that we love, like the hook and eye closure in the front, the narrow collar, and the fact that the tweed is ultra lightweight. Beautiful! The jacket (Theory ‘Gratti – Lecture’ Tweed Jacket) is $385 at Nordstrom, and the skirt (Theory ‘Joanie – Lecture’ Tweed Skirt) is $190.

Oooh, great sale on this charming tweed pencil skirt. We love the tiny black and white checkered pattern, and the classic fit of it. We’d wear it with mostly black (tights, twinset, etc) and perhaps choose a few accessories in a bright color, like red or yellow (necklace, bracelet) to make things really pop. Was $98, now $41 (selected sizes only). (Also note: free shipping through 1/18.) Linear Tweed Pencil Skirt

Happy Monday! Today’s TPS report is the lovely shadow tweed dress from Narciso Rodriguez, now on sale at eLuxury. The detailing on this dress is insane — darts at the waist, ever-so-slightly shaped cap sleeves, an exposed zipper in the back, and a round, high neckline. We’d wear it with a long, almost opera-length pendant necklace, and kitten heels or flats to de-emphasize the short(ish) skirt. Available at eLuxury for $869 (on sale from $1,450).
