Ooh: included in the Piperlime sale is this tweed version of the MZ Wallace shoulder bag. I’d call this bag a modern classic — I’ve seen it (and heard amazing things about it) for probably 5 years, and admired it on the subway many a time. I like the gray tweed with the leather accents, as well as the included “inner detachable market purse” — cute. It was $395, but is now marked to $236.99 at Piperlime. For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
OK: let’s ignore the model, who perhaps had a Big Gulp before they started the shoot. Or something. Anyway: I like this suit. It’s just a leeetle bit different — the slight flounce to the jacket, the wide cuffs on the blazer, and the lovely texture to the tweed. It’s $395 at Neiman Marcus. Albert Nipon Tweed Suit

I’m liking this simple gray tweed suit from Talbots’ today. I like the ruffled back on the jacket, the full lining on the pants, and the fun black and white pattern. The jacket (Talbots Grace Fit Donegal Tweed ruffle-back jacket) is $199, and the pants (Signature Fit Donegal Tweed wide-leg pants) are $119 (both online only). A matching skirt (not pictured: Donegal Tweed ruffle-back pencil skirt) is also available, online only for $119. The jacket and pants are available in regular, petites, woman, and woman petite’s sizes; the skirt is regular and petites only.

If I ever come into a large sum of money, my first stop after picking up my check will be a Chanel boutique (preferably in Paris, of course), where I will purchase the most classic, beautiful tweed jacket there ever was. The very definition of timeless classic, a Chanel tweed gives you instant style, substance and cache, whether paired with a cocktail dress, suit pants or jeans and a tee. But, besides being cost-prohibitive (most styles start at $4,000 and climb from there), Chanel doesn’t do online sales. So instead, I thought I’d show you this beautiful Moschino version, which does an excellent job of echoing the classic. Black is the way to go with a splurge like this – maximum versatility and all that. Moschino adds a bit of edge to this ladylike style with studs and exposed zippers, giving it the perfect work-to-weekend vibe. I’d pair it with every single other piece I’ve picked for this week, and about a thousand other things – it’s almost impossible to get wrong. It’s $2,955 at Net-a-Porter. I love a good tweed. When employed properly, it’s always a classic. This dress is a fun twist on the classic, in that it’s sleeveless and has that great detailing and seaming at the shoulders. I love the high neckline, full lining and hidden back zipper. I’m a little concerned that the length might be too short for some of the lucky longer-limbed Corporettes out there, so to them I’d say save this for fall/winter and pair it with some opaque tights (but not in a “opaque tights make *everything* ok!” way) and kitten heels. I’d also wear the dress with a simple blazer or cardigan and, of course, some pearls. MICHAEL Michael Kors Fringe Tweed Dress Black 2

I like all Armani stuff, but for some reason this ruffled tweed jacket is totally calling my name. I like the fitted silhouette, the slight flare to the jacket from the waist down, the basic but interesting pattern in the tweed, and the fringes and ruffles on the lapels, sleeves, and collar. It’s $1525 at Saks Fifth Avenue. Ruffled Tweed Jacket
