For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits for women, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.
Liking this tweed suit set from Talbots today. I’m intrigued by the dolman sleeves, wrap effect, and ribbon belt of the jacket — I think you could get a lot of wear out of this as a separate as well as part of the suit — and the skirt looks like a classic. I also really like that it’s available in regular, petites, women’s sizes, and women’s petites. The jacket (Talbots Grace Fit Sorbonne Tweed ribbon-belted jacket) is $189, and the skirt (Sorbonne Tweed pencil skirt) is $99, and a matching sheath dress (not pictured, Sorbonne Tweed Sheath) is $169 .

Happy Monday! Today we are loving these full leg pants by Giambattista Valli. Love the dramatically wide leg, as well as the multicolored tweed. Gorgeous! They’re on sale at Neiman Marcus — were $1080, now $378 (limited sizes only). Giambattista Valli Full-Leg Pants

J.Crew has a number of cute tweed pencil skirts right now. We like this one, “crafted in a deliciously nubby navy and green tweed with touches of purple throughout” — allegedly inspired by Vermeer. As with any tweed, we’d wear it with a smoother fabric on top — perhaps a blouse or a lightweight cardigan or sweater. The skirt is $118 at JCrew.com. Moss tweed pencil skirt

Nordstrom has a number of great dresses marked down to the $60 range, including this attractive tweed sheath dress, perfect for cold weather. We’d pair it with a bright emerald or royal blue cardigan for a more casual fall day, or perhaps a winter white blazer and dark tights for a more wintery day. Lovely. It was $118, now $59 (sizes 6-16 still available). Halogen ‘Heartland’ Tweed Sheath Dress

Happy Monday! We are loving this deceptively simple blazer from Alice + Olivia. At first glance, it looks like your basic gray tweed blazer — but on closer inspection you notice the velvet trim, the flounced peplum waist , and the slight shaping to the shoulders. Fabulous. We’d wear it with a pencil skirt, or perhaps a high-waisted pant. It’s $440 at Shopbop.com. Alice + Olivia Hunter Peplum Blazer

We’re liking this tweed skirtsuit from Ann Taylor. Love the seaming on the pencil skirt (as well as the “touch of stretch”), and love the 60s vibe to the jacket. The jacket (Tweed Jacket) is $108, and the skirt (Tweed Seamed Skirt) is $108.
