I first saw this jacket a few weeks ago, looking for a Suit of the Week, and every time I come back to it I’m wowed by it — the colors! the shape! the style! It’s just gorgeous. Love the tweed, love the interplay of the horizontal and diagonal stripes, and I love the shrunken feel to it. ShopBop has it styled in a more casual way, but as you can tell from Bergdorf’s website it would also look great with more conservative duds. It’s $428 at both. Nanette Lepore Juke Box Tweed Jacket

For busy working women, the suit is often the easiest outfit to throw on in the morning. In general, this feature is not about interview suits, which should be as classic and basic as you get — instead, this feature is about the slightly different suit that is fashionable, yet professional.

Today’s suit falls in the realm of “lucky sizes,” but it really is such a gorgeous suit (at such a great price) that we’d be remiss in not pointing it out. In addition to being a classic color and look, we love the wide neckline (perfect for flattering the clavicle) and the large buttons. Formerly $750 for the set, the jacket (Fringed Two Pocket Jacket
) is now $123 (sizes 6, 10, 12, and 16 only), and the skirt ( Tonal Tweed Pencil Skirt
) is now $62.50 (sizes 10 and 12 only).
In other suit-related news, we’ve now seen three or four suits, from different designers, with this sort of “bandaid” fabric construction. Personally, it’s not our cup of tea, but we’re curious what you guys think…

We’re loving the tweeds at the moment, for some reason, including this lovely multi-colored skirt from Trina Turk. Normally, rainbow-colored items are totally inappropriate, but the chunky tweed has a way of muting the reds, blues, greens, and yellows speckled throughout this skirt; also, the vaguely vertical pattern seems incredibly flattering. The 23″ skirt is $218 at Nordstrom’s, in sizes 0-12. Trina Turk ‘Westcott’ Skirt
