Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Platinum Jersey Tee

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Talbots Platinum Jersey TeeI’m always a fan of the simple tee beneath blazers, and this jersey tee from Talbots is highly rated, and available in a huge range of sizes (XS-XL in misses, petites, woman, and woman petites) and eight colors. For those of you hunting for the opaque white tee, take note: this one is double-layered in the front. It’s machine washable, and I like the boatneck. It’s $49.50 (with a very limited sale selection marked as low as $15.99.) Talbots Platinum Jersey Tee

Thursday’s TPS Report: Collection Sheath Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Limited Collection SheathI’m intrigued by the new “Collection,” er, collection, at The Limited. They have a ton of suiting options, including this simple sheath dress — and they all look pretty great (and they’re all machine washable, I think). Love the high neckline, and the nipped in waist. It’s available in sizes 00-16 in regular, petite, and talls, in navy, gray, and black, for $98. Limited Collection Sheath

The Hunt: Flared Skirts

Flared Skirts: The Corporette Round-UpSure, we all know what basics professional women are supposed to have in their closets, but if you’re buying one for the first time or replacing one you’ve worn into the ground, it can be a pain to find exactly the right incarnation in stores. In “The Hunt,” we search the stores for a basic item that every woman should have.

The pencil skirt is always considered “the classic” workwear piece — but flared skirts (whether they be A-lines, flounces, trumpets, or circle skirts) are a classic — and they’re everywhere right now (much like fit-and-flare dresses). We haven’t rounded up flared skirts in about a year, so I thought I’d round up a few — interestingly, the “flirty” skirt from last year’s roundup is still available at White House | Black Market Readers, have you bought any flared or A-line skirts lately? Any classic pieces that you bought a few years ago but still wear (and, even better, still see it for sale)?

Frugal Friday’s TPS Report: Three Quarter Sleeve Linen Blazer

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Olivia Moon Three Quarter Sleeve Linen BlazerWe included this lovely piece in our roundup of stylish linen blazers back in May, but now that it’s marked down to $47 in a ton of colors and sizes, I thought I’d repost.  This bright fuschia makes me happy, but I’m also eyeing the black, the navy, the white… simple is always good.  Olivia Moon Three Quarter Sleeve Linen Blazer

Thursday’s TPS Report: Vee Dress

Our daily TPS reports suggest one piece of work-appropriate attire in a range of prices.

Roland Mouret Collection Vee DressToday is the first day the Roland Mouret collection at Banana Republic is available, and it looks like some pieces are already in limited supply on the web site. They all look like great basics that are wearable for work, and my favorite is this chic v-neck. It’s available in navy and black for $140, but with the 25% off if you sign up for email it comes down to $105. Roland Mouret Collection Vee Dress

Coffee Break: Gardner Pump

Joan & David Gardner Pump | Corporette

These Joan & David pumps look very similar to old reader favorite the Gila pump, but with a bit fancier of a cutout. These lipstick red patent pumps look absolutely gorgeous, although the light brown, navy, bronze, or black (all patent) are also all good. There’s a blue suede that is also calling my name (of course). They’re $66-$91 at 6pm.com (were $190). Joan & David Gardner Pump
