(A refresher: a peplum is technically a skirt attached to a jacket; in its 2009 incarnation we’re seeing short flaps on the frontside of the jacket extended from the waist down. It gives the jacket more flounce and accentuates your waist.) We like this textured cotton sweater blazer from White House|Black Market. It’s springlike and sophisticated, but at the same time friendly and comfortable-looking. We like White House|Black Market a lot, particularly for slightly offbeat yet conservative basics like these “blurred” herringbone pants, which seem to look more “blurred” from far away than they do close-up.
