We’re liking this lovely white cardigan from J. Jill. We like that the fabric is a mix of silk, cotton, and cashmere — all comfy, all handwashable — and we like the muted print. Today we’re liking this classic button front from Theory. We love the light blue windowpane, as well as the slightly wide collar. We’d wear it with a white camisole beneath it, though — the description notes it’s “slightly sheer.” It’s on sale at Nordstrom — was $190, now $113, available in sizes petite, small, large, and XL. Reader P writes in to recommend this silk top from Nanette Lepore, which, she notes, “works in so many ways and perfect on an hour-glass figure.” We like it also (particularly the combo of silk and stud detailing), but the obvious point here is to know your office — in a more conservative office this would work best under a buttoned-up suit, with very traditional pumps — remove the jacket to take it from desk to dinner.
