Stylish and simple, T-shirts are great in the summer, of course, but they’re also great to layer under a cardigan or blazer as seasons change.
In an ideal world, the t-shirt would be a bit fancy — perhaps it’s made of a stretchy silk jersey, perhaps it has a blouse-like pattern. Make sure not to go too flashy. Avoid tees with rhinestones or beads.
These are great for a variety of reasons: they don’t gape, they’re opaque, they’re often easy to care for, and if they’re sleeved you don’t need to worry about the “is sleeveless ok” question.
Sleeveless tops can be great if you want a layered look with clean lines. However, be aware that your dry cleaning costs might be higher for blazers unless you magically don't sweat.
Button front blouses are a classic for a reason — they’re a conservative but stylish and chic look. They often require a little more care, unless you choose a non-iron option.
