Elie Tahari – Tara Hobo (Deep Aqua Smooth Calf) – Bags and Luggage6pm.com is having a handbag blowout today, including this great basic hobo from Elie Tahari — available in aqua (pictured), as well as dark shades of blue, brown, purple, green, and red — and more. They were $448, now marked to $150 (today only). We like the brighter colors to add a bit of punch to an otherwise drab outfit, or the darker colors as a lovely basic (the brown is particularly lovely). 1. Why can’t they just call their colors “brown,” “green,” “red,” etc. instead of “clove” and “fig”? Are clove and fig both brown? Ugh.

    1. I agree with you! It took me a while to figure out that Nightfall may be black (then again, it may be navy…hard to tell on the website). I had to order to confirm :)

      1. LOL! Don’t forget the “kelp” (green). But jokes aside, I love the color selection available!

  2. This is a cute bag. But does anybody else think that hobo style bags, with their slouchy tops, are too casual for work? I always opt for a more structured tote style for work. Please tell me if I just need to loosen up and live a little…

    1. I hear you.. I LOVE hobo style bags for my personal style.. but for work I usually carry something more structured. It’s easier to carry notebooks and folders in the structured bags anyway.

    2. Depends on the bag, I think. I have a bottega veneta hobo that I carry daily to work and I think it looks pretty nice.

    3. Loosen up & live a little! :)

Although some bags, hobo & not, are probably not good for work, a simple classic hobo bag is fine . . . enjoy yourself.

  3. i can’t tell what the lining is made of. that is important to me. in the past i would have assumed its quality was consistent with the price of the item, but for xmas i ordered my mother an expensive purse online and was disappointed by the quality of the lining.

does anyone have familiarity with tahari bags?

  4. I need something a tad more structured and compartmentalized (and smaller!)than this. Otherwise I’ll just throw anything and everything into it and end up with a 10lb bag. Not great for the back.

  5. Anyone else really turned off by the replica handbag ad that’s flashing in the sidebar? I just can’t support the trademark infringement of fake handbags- besides the fact that they usually look gross. Not a great fashion item for an “overachieving chick”. I’m a little surprised.
