And oh man, it makes so much more sense now, the white shoes thing. It never occurred to me that your labour day was in autumn! Where I live it’s 1st May. I hope you have the day off and can do something nice. :)
In my childhood, labour day was a day of fire – local farmers always «tidyed» the fields for spring by grass fires, or did any sort of stinky or noisy spring chore to annoy the «commie» salaried workers who had the day off and publicly declare themselves as non-workers. :D
