We're loving this vintage-inspired skirt suit from Rebecca Taylor. All the little details make it so gorgeous and interesting: the notched collar, the puffed sleeves, the pickstitch detailing, the backpleat on the jacket, and we love, love the defined waist. The fabric flower/boutonniere is actually our least favorite part, if only because you have to treat it as an accessory and therefore can't accessorize that much more once you've got it on — we'd say earrings or necklace and you're good to go. The jacket is available at Nordstrom for $365 (Rebecca Taylor ‘Coco' Jacket) and the matching skirt (Rebecca Taylor Slim Skirt), which also has a backpleat, is $220.![]() |

Nice suit, but I would have that flower removed immediately (if it is sewn on). It reminds me of that spring about 5 yrs ago where the Gap put fabric flowers on everything that they sold — ick!
Cute suit, but what do you wear under it? I like different and vintage-y suits but I’m always afraid to wear the wrong accessories/shirts/shoes, so I never end up buying them. Pah. I guess I’m just a scaredy-cat when it comes to being fashion-forward, especially at the workplace.
boring suit.
what to wear under: the tight turtleneck look for winter (shows off the neckline of the jacket) – for spring, maybe a sleeveless boatneck tank or the shell to a sweater set. either way, keep your accessories definitely NOT vintage to avoid overload.
cute!
Nice suite, Rebecca Taylor has great cuts & details. This particular neckline will bring a lot of attention to the decollete area.
Way too feminine — I could never wear that to my conservative office on any occasion where a suit is actually called for. I’d wear the pieces separately though, but only if that flower can be removed.
What do people think of wearing short-sleeve suit jackets in general? I would not be comfortable wearing these jackets on a “suit occasion”, i.e., a formal event or something where everyone else is wearing a suit, but I’d wear such a jacket by itself in the office on a normal day.
I wouldn’t wear short sleeves to court or to meetings with opposing counsel, but I would feel comfortable wearing them to a meeting with a client (one I already have a relationship with) or to a conference.
